I'm really getting sick of the silence on this game in terms of official sources (I don't usually pay attention to or care about the leaks, they're thrown around so much it's hard to tell what's real and what's fake). Yes, I'm excited for open world and 4 player co-op, but like, where's the official news? Why have they not revealed basic things like the region name or what's happening with gyms? They've never been this tight lipped about the game for this long, usually by this point we start getting multiple news reveals a month, we're still waiting for our next news in almost 7 weeks at this point! WTF is going on at TPC?
After Pokémon Arceus' more mature storyline, I'm too spoiled by it that I'm not sure I could ever go back and play regular younger demographic Pokémon titles anymore. lol Probably a good point in the franchise to say goodbye forever.

@Eel I've never played MDE, so I wouldn't know. lol I heard it has a great story too, not to mention being the first time GameFreak bothered at all to shake the formula up (not counting the more casual Pokémon Snap, and if you really want to stretch it, those Pokémon puzzle games). Might pick it up someday.
@Fizzathe list doesn't contain all spoilers, so even if regional variants return there will be 2 of them in total (Wooper and Tauros), because game will focus into 3 types of brand new Pokémon who will look extremely similar to already existing Pokémon, but will be brand new Pokémon aka have own Pokédex number, new name, etc.
And let's help this petition for Latin American Spanish in Pokémon games: https://www.change.org/p/anmtvla-pokemonlatam-español-latino...
There was Portuguese/Brazilian-Portuguese movement as well, bet it was movement aka # and such as, so don't remember how help for that one, because I not # and tweeter person that much.

News in early/mid June (usually part of a Presents/Direct and flows into Nintendo's E3 plans)
News in early August (standalone trailer)
News in early September (usually flows into Nintendo's September Direct plans) and further news is at a consistent pace in the lead up to launch
So far the cycle has remained consistent with the norm apart from the June news being only a standalone trailer instead of Direct/Presents + Treehouse Live. I'd guess the next trailer will be on the week beginning August 8th with the previous week being dedicated to Splatoon 3.
@Grumblevolcano No, it's not. The constant pace usually starts in June, not September, and we typically get something once a month every month from June to release. You can verify this for yourself on Serebii:
July 2013 for XY had a CoroCoro reveal that showed the PSS, details on Xerneas and Yveltal, and several Pokemon (Pangoro, Inkay, Swirlix, Spritzee) as well as smaller trailers throughout the month revealing Honedge and Trevenant.
July 2016 for SM had 4 reveals. The first trailer revealed Tapu Koko, Charjabug, Vikavolt, Drampa, Bruxish, Cutiefly, and Togedemaru and teased Poke Ride. The second trailer was shown at Japan Expo and revealed Salandit. The third was a CoroCoro reveal that showed Bewear and Mimikyu. The fourth revealed Hyper Training and Wimpod, Bounsweet, Comfey, and Mudsdale.
July 2019 for SwSh had a trailer that revealed Gigantamax, Duraludon, Alcremie, Rolycoly, and Bea and Allister.
Not the biggest reveals granted, but it's still something and we definitely did not wait 7 weeks for the next reveal after the early June trailer.
We normally have the third trailer by now, and in terms of the information itself, we normally know the region (which is VERY late, we normally know that by May/June) and what's going on with gyms and a few of the gym leaders by this point. So no, we're definitely behind both in terms of number of reveals and quantity of information.
@Bolt_Strike Good point, I was looking at the news sections for the individual games on Nintendo Life and for some reason some of the July news wasn't listed. In that case the info drought is weird, maybe Nintendo asked TPC to wait on Scarlet/Violet promo until after XC3 has released? Both have been stated to be open world, XC3 is definitely believable given XCX was open world but if Scarlet/Violet is truly open world massive Scarlet/Violet promo may affect XC3 sales (Scarlet/Violet will sell insanely well whatever happens given it's Pokemon).
@Grumblevolcano Normally you would have to say no because Pokemon's marketing tends to be totally divorced from Nintendo. But in this case, since Nintendo is also being weirdly silent on their future plans lately, there's definitely similarities. This may be a plausible explanation.
That being said, I'm going to have to burst XC fans' bubble and say that XC3 is probably not going to outsell 2. There's a consistent pattern where sequels on the same console tend to sell less than the previous release (see: Mario Galaxy vs. Mario Galaxy 2, Pokemon DP vs. BW, XY vs. SM, etc.). So I'm not sure if there's much wisdom in trying to prioritize marketing for a game that's only going to sell 1/5 (maybe even 1/10) of SV.
So, the Pokemon Direct will have Pokemon handphone games too.
Well, I can literally skip those part by doing something else while waiting for Pokemon Scarlet / Violet section.
I don't even need the information about handphone games.
@Kermit1 I kinda want to call mine Zangmief whenever I get them because those arms are bringing back some....painful memories shall we say.
(also, I love imagining Pawmi speaking in a very heavy Russian accent whilst battling)
