@Pizzamorg I think it looks pretty good docked. Granted my tv is medium sized and semi far from where I sit so maybe some people see more detail than I do.
I also have a digital copy on my son's Switch. Though, I already requested a refund, which probably will take a long time to process (as Nintendo Europe is overloaded in emails). I will try to delete the game and re-download it to see if it makes a difference.
This really shows how broken / buggy this game is. It also doesn't take away from all the other things that I brought up, which are not GFX related.
As I am honestly not making this up. I am even more of a Pokemon game fan than my son.
After seeing your video, this GFX stuff is just infuriating lol. It's not like there are hidden GFX settings and I have everything set to max in system TV output settings ( 1080p and Full Range RGB ).

Yeah, I guess if you throw it onto a 30 incher and sit 10 feet away it might not be so bad, but I dunno why you'd bother, just play it in handheld lol
LOL! I just fired up the game in handheld mode it's dark and it rained and also see some shadows (though inconsistent). Then I dock it and rain and shadows disappear and its suddenly mid-day. What a broken mess.
EDIT. I took it from the dock again and in handheld it's suddenly dark again, no rain with stars and can see shadows more consistently now rain is gone. Game looks so much better handheld. Though it still suffers bad performance and terrible framerates. /sigh
So at least I don't have to bother to redownload the game.
Either way. Like I already mentioned. I have already submitted the refund request, as there lot more issues than the GFX problems we just discussed (albeit hilarious).
I will wait and see if/when Game Freak will come out with an apology and show us a roadmap in how they plan to fix this game. Then I might pick it up again in the future.
@VoidofLight I don't suppose weather patterns affect encounters do they? I know nighttime has that affect with stuff like Murkrow, Drifloon and such spawning in droves around places like Artazon (also I just realised the pun in that name :l) though with the unpredictability of weather patterns in SV compared to SwSh I'm unsure whether that remains the case now.
Also, whilst I'm here, I may as well ask for some tips on how to evolve certain mons such as:
Nymble (early route Bug)
Fidough & Flittle (early/mid-game pure Fairy types)
Finizen/Wiglett (mid-game Water types, the latter of which I'm unsure as to whether they evolve or not)
Maschiff (early game Dark)
Primeape, Masquerain, Girafarig & Dunsparce (older mons with new evos from what I've heard online)
Playing and enjoying it in docked mode, too. I have a team for each storyline and a list of the levels for each of the 18 badges, it's actually super good, imo. (technical issues aside...which I admit is probably not easy to look past for everyone)
I also just caught me a Toedscool and I ADORE its run cycle. Actually made me burst out laughing.
Got a preliminary core 3 for the foreseeable future in Fuecoco (and whatever it's final evo is called), Clodsire and Cyclizar. Planning to add either Wiglett, Wattrell, Smoliv, Finizen, and/or Nymble (plus their evos obviously) to this list though I'm still not sure which ones.
EDIT: Scratch that, I've just discovered Orthworm: INSTANTLY ON THE TEAM.
I somehow went like 15 hours and forgot about the picnic thing, but my God it is the best thing ever. Washing your pokemon, playing ball with them, just watching them all wander around and interact. Love it.
@Dom_31@Snatcher This wasn't exactly what I meant when I said that the Titans were throwing hands.
I think the thing I find the most hilarious about Orthworm is that it is, by almost all accounts, just.... better Steelix.
Think about it: pure Steel instead of Steel/Ground takes away crucial weaknesses to types such as Water, it has a far more beneficial defensive ability in Earth Eater (literally Water/Volt Absorb but for Ground Type attacks SUCH AS EARTHQUAKE) and it's stats are far more well rounded while still retaining a lot of what made Steelix enticing like monstrous Defense and a passable Attack stat.
TLDR; if Steelix comes back in a potential DLC expansion, it's basically going to be this image.

Oh damn, I tried my luck with a third titan, and it just annihilated me. I guess these do have levels, but they just hide them from the player? Nice for the game to finally kick back to be honest.
@Pizzamorg I assume you're talking about Great Tusk/Iron Treads? Because geez did that one send me packing to kingdom come the first time round (I took it on with a Level 22 Finizen on the off-chance I could do something and the minute I saw how little a Mystic Water boosted Aqua Jet did in comparison to the OHKO he dished out to me? ....I just reset back to my last save at that point).
