@YummyHappyPills Yeah I hear what you mean. At this point I’ve stopped worrying too much about the rumors, the game will likely be unveiled officially in a few weeks so no point in getting worked up over some rumors.

@YummyHappyPills Dude, this the Pokemon RPG for Switch forum during peek leak season. We're going to discuss leaks whether they are true or not. These leaks also pull up great discussions, as well as hopes a dreams for the series. If you don't want to see this then wait for official news that will make it to the front page of this website, so you don't have to be getting on here to see this (though people like me will @ you which causes you to come back here and start the whole cycle all over again, haha). All in all we are having fun discussing the potential future for the series. If something triggers you so bad it is best to avoid it.

@NapalmPsalm Im talking industry leaks in general bro. Its fun to read but after several months it gets a bit....ridiculous that people latch on to everything.

What's always funny is when a rumor gets popular and people get mad when the rumor turns out to be untrue.

They're fun to discuss, though.

@YummyHappyPills Yeah, it is pretty ridiculous how people will latch on to anything. But I'm not really going to judge. These "leakers" sometimes are having what they see as fun and are using creativity to come up with these things. Then there are other people who like to investigate these "leaks" to prove or , most of the time, disprove them. You or I might not believe it, others might keep an eye on it with salt, and others will be sheep. We can only control what we believe.

The only reason it has gone on for several months is because they confirmed it so early, which builds up hype. Once it is officially shown some people are going to be a disappointed, but they will be in the minority and GameFreak and Nintendo will make a load of money off of new fans, old fans, and loyal fans.

EDIT: Also I like to play devil's advocate in discussions, so keep that in mind.

@Snagrio Honestly if Eurogamer is the first to break a rumour, ignore it. They backpeddled on Stars being "Just a tech demo", and again with Prime 4 stuff.

I was not mad when Stars turned out to be untrue. In fact, I was very happy (Alola and Generation VII need to go away). It would be really nice if this one turned out to be untrue, too.

Stars is probably the only reason we know a Switch game is officially coming. If the Stars rumour didn't exist, there would've been a much smaller backlash at Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon being for 3DS and hence the Pokemon segment of the E3 2017 Spotlight event probably wouldn't have existed or at least reduced to only a Pokken DX trailer.

Welp, 22nd is almost done. So one tin foil hat theory doesn't look to be happening. I kinda want to sleep until e3

I still think the Wednesday announce-Friday reveal is what we're looking at here.

There's a rumour (one of many) on 4chan about new Pokemon in the games. The idea is based on Missingno. And you're going around finding Pokemon that were ''erased from existence'', possibly based on scrapped designs. Aside from the fact that the rumour itself is fake, that's a fun little idea, but it's obviously playing into the book that's releasing soon with the beta Pokemon artwork.

@DarkRula No I agree. I just want something official asap so we can have really discussion and over analyze a 30 second clip.

@Octane Ha, that would be pretty cool. I would say that is a little dark, but XY was about to blast a hole in the world; soooooo...

@NapalmPsalm I'm reminded of that time when we had a large gap in BotW info and then there was that 13 second tease after Nintendo revealed Twilight Princess HD.

Speaking of spicy 4chan rumors, just found a new 'leak'. I'm hoping and praying that it's real, cause it makes the new games sound like less of a massive disappointment.

@Grumblevolcano For some reason my mind isn't comprehending what you were trying to get across. I mean, I'm feeling really dumb right now. I feel like you are relating to me through an example, but my mind is oozing out of my ear right now for some reason.

@YummyHappyPills Yeah, a lot of red flags in this part of the "leak". I would completely agree with you if he said his uncle was quitting, not himself

@NapalmPsalm Well the thing is the theme of a snake destroying Kanto and splitting it apart into islands around a newly formed larger "region" is something we heard...hell late last year?

Honestly looking at a map of Kanto you can see a clear line south of Mt Moon where the region almost becomes a peninsula like shape. Slap an earthquake there (Pretty much right in the shape of Diglett's Tunnel actually) and the entire eastern half splits off, leaving the western bit with Pewter/Viridian and Pallet Town still on the landmass with Johto, and the rest float off while a new region forms in the middle.

That is the #1 red flag for me. Is all this piggybacking off of that and is it all fake? Were parts of it real and parts of it fake? What if it is "all" real(ahahahaha, no)?

As cool as it would be to start a new game in an old region that has almost completely been destroyed, it sounds like a fan fiction to me.

@NapalmPsalm Yeah, it was an example. BotW's news cycle went like this before the big info drop at E3 2016:
E3 2014 (June) - Trailer
Game Awards 2014 (December) - Some early gameplay
November 2015 Direct - 13 second tease
E3 2016 (June) - Game fully shown off

While we did know more official info about BotW before E3 2016 than we do of Pokemon Switch currently, the official info drought feels similar.
