Topic: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee!

It could be like with the gen 2 remakes of HeartGold and SoulSilver where there was the Pokewalker accessory you could use as an alternative way to catch some pokemon when out and about. Just using Pokemon Go instead.

Do you think all these leaks instead of being related to the next mainline Pokemon game is instead for a Pokemon Snap game on Switch?

I've seen quite a lot of people with known inside sources double down on this. Even Joe over at Serebii posted about it on his main site (and he normally doesn't post rumours).

Looks like we're going back to Kanto.

I'm going to reserve judgement until the official reveal next week, but I'm a bit unsure about the Pokemon GO integration stuff. I don't really care about that, and it seems like they want to cater to the Pokemon GO crowd with this game. We shall see.

@Octane I dont get wanting to cater to the Pokemon Go crowd when that existed to hype up Sun and Moon (And judging by sales it didn't need dumbing down either, it WORKED!) so this feels pointless.

@Octane If you don't mind, where do you see they will do an official announcement for this? I haven't even seen there will be one in any of the leak places... or did I just overlook it?

Just FYI. There's a mock-up of the logo of Let's Go! Eevee going around, but that's made by a guy on some Spanish forum, but some are trying to pass it off as a ''leak''.

@YummyHappyPills It seems like that on a surface level, but maybe it's not as bad as it seems.

@NapalmPsalm It's ''soon'', but Emily Rogers said it wasn't this week. I figure it's a pre-E3 reveal. Late May seems more logical than a week before E3. But that's just my own speculation. Either way, it should be soon, if not before E3, it's at E3.

@Octane Ahh, so you were going off of Emily Rogers and using context clues. I agree with you on that timing. I just thought you might have seen something "official" in the leak.

I believe these leaks as they completely fit in with all the information we have been getting thus far - the heavy promotion of Pikachu and Eevee, the leaked Lapras screenshot etc.

What I find really fascinating is the rumours that the battle system was going to be changed. It is now obvious that those rumours were clearly referring to the 'capture' system. The new capture system is obviously going to be based on Pokemon Go, while presumably the battle system will remain unchanged. If so, I think this is a smart move by Nintendo and the Pokemon company as the current capture system is pretty clunky.

It will also be awesome if you can casually capture Pokemon on Pokemon Go and then trade them to the Switch game.

Yeah, this is what I've been trying to tell people on reddit and youtube(why do I even try on YT?). People seem to be really freaking out about that. Granted, my initial reaction was like that. I do expect some changes to the battle system though. We always get some kind of alteration each game/generation. Think the categorizing the moves being changed to physical and special depending on each one instead of by type.

Yeah, I don't think many people would be upset to have the capture system get revamped to be more interesting than pick a ball, see if it works. Even if it's just integrating things like aiming, accuracy bonuses, etc. So long as there's still a way to do it without motion controls, cause I'll be playing this mostly in portable mode. Oddyssey was definitely hurt by that.

This game is going to be huge! I haven't played Pokémon in years and even I'm looking forward to it lol!

@Yoshi87 How is it clunky you open up a menu and throw a ball of your choosing? They've even simplified it by making that menu quicker to access.
