@Octane It’s probably moreso the fault for people seeing anything that looks open with environmental shots and believing that it’s 100% open world. From the looks of it, the areas will be big open spaces, but just won’t connect to one another. There’ll probably be free roaming missions like there are in monster hunter.
I honestly think this structure makes more sense than a fully open world pokemon title, since it’d work better with leveling and story elements.

There will be new information about Pokemon Legends: Arceus
"Pokémon Battle Festival Asia 2021 is beginning in November until the end of February 2022. It is the very first event in Asia featuring tournaments, exhibition matches, and special shows across multiple Pokémon titles such as: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE and Pokémon Trading Card Game."
Oof, that footage did NOT look promising. However, considering the low effort Gen IV remakes still managed to have a positive review score on Metacritic convinced me that even if the game was buggy and incomplete it would still be praised.
@Snaplocket I don't get how the footage exactly looks bad. Sure, it doesn't look like BotW levels, but it's gamefreak, a developer who's forced to work on a strict time limit and pump out games to support the anime and merch. As long as the gameplay is good, then the graphics truly don't matter as much.

I don't think the game will be good at all. None of the footage looks particularly good. I hope I'm wrong, but I just haven't enjoyed a Pokemon game in a long time... probably since the 3DS days.
And speaking of the 3DS, someone needs to tell Game Freak that they're no longer working on that system, because this still looks like an up-res'd 3DS game.
@Reprise My guesses are that you've never played a 3Ds title before, since this looks nothing of the sort.
Also, this game already has more effort put into it than Sword and Shield, given that every pokemon has a brand new model in these games, and there's new animations. Pokemon actually make contact as well when attacking now.
Edit: Y'know what, I see it now! I can't believe how pixelated the Legends skybox is! This is unacceptable! I also can't believe how low quality the animations are! Pokemon just stand there on the battle screen in place and attack eachother without making con- Wait, I was looking at Sun and Moon upressed for the 3Ds, not Legends.
@VoidofLight Lol I still play my 3DS all the time. But if you think those "brand new models" and "brand new animations" look good... eh, fair enough I guess. But to me it just looks so basic, bland and bleh. It's ugly. The Switch is capable of so much more.
@Reprise Don't know why you put quotes around "Brand New", given they are. The pokemon have genuinely modeled mouths and eyes now instead of using textures, and the animations are better than what the series had before.
I do get how this game does kind of look rough in some areas, since it genuinely does, however... as long as the gameplay is good, I feel like these graphics are passable.

@Snaplocket I've seen 3Ds games scaled up as well, and Legends doesn't look to be anywhere around that quality. Sword and Shield barely do, and BDSP does.. but to be fair, BDSP was ILCA's first ever game they made on their own.
Edit: Yeah, upon looking it up, Legends looks no-where near as bad as these upscales. I'd post pictures, but I don't have Imgur.
Pokemon Shining Pearl which I just got on my switch lite is a lot like the the old DS and gameboy games. It will be interesting to see how this game turns out as it gets closer.
