@Silly_G I just looked up Arcanine, and it seems they updated their learnset to include all the moves Growlithe learns through leveling, but all of them are learned at level ''0''. So Arcanine doesn't learn anything by leveling up, but you can access them using the move reminder.
@Anti-Matter It's like one very large connected area, with different zones that don't require loading screens. Each zone has its own spawns and weather.
I almost never buy "third versions" of Pokemon games. I bought Yellow, but that was... pretty extensively changed.
Rarely buy the remakes, either. Made an exception for Soulsilver, but I just ended up selling it. Johto was never my favorite region.
I'm actually the opposite. Way back in the day I almost always bought the 3rd version. I didn't have R/B, but I got yellow. Didn't have G/S, but I got Crystal.
If they aren't going to finish the game when it comes out, I might as well wait for the complete game to come out.

@Octane : Yes, I have noticed that for a few Pokémon as well.
Like I said, I haven't exhaustively examined the movesets, so I can't vouch for everyone. I've mainly been keeping an eye in the Pokémon that I intended to add to my team.
If only the weather would change in the Giant zone of the Wild Area so I can catch Corsola...
Porygon did nothing wrong.

@Anti-Matter Some of what you saw might be routes, there isn’t really a forest in the Wild. It is a large open zone with different land marks and terrain features. Each area in the Wild has a name and it’s own weather effect that can change independently of other areas.
I bought 60 Great Balls, managed to catch a Phantump, Passimian, but ran out of balls while catching a third Pokemon. Catch rates are awful in this game.
@Octane I was having a lot of problems catching anything around level 30. Once I got Ultra Balls and some of the special pokeballs it became way easier. At level 60 now and I can usually catch most larger non-raid Pokémon within 2-5 throws.
@Galenmereth I think the type-specific balls do have better odds than Ultra Balls, Ultra’s are just more universal. I also don’t have any supporting data for this, but it sure seems like it from my experience so far. Also, in raids I feel like Timer Balls are super successful with consistently getting 5 star Pokémon, but I’m not sure if that’s just because I use them more now haha.
As you start getting more pokedex entries and get a pokemon that can put others to sleep, it gets a lot easier.
Also, the game freak director can give you a catching charm, which increases the odds of getting an instant catch.
(The more pokemon you've caught, the better your chances of getting an instant catch)
And yes, adding a status effect is a must unless you plan to stay there throwing balls. Sleep is the best one. I've noticed sleeping weakened pokemon seem to have much better chances of instant captures.
@Eel What you call an Instant Catch isn't....actually a thing.
The game, since Black and White, has had Critical Captures, a mechanic that has a chance of appearing, which increases based on how much of the Pokedex you have completed. The new Catching Charm introduced in this game, increases those odds further.
However, a Critical Capture is not a 100% guarantee.
When the animation starts the ball makes a different noise, and is thrown differently, then shakes in the air before falling to the ground. The game will then run ONE check for capture instead of the usual three. So the ball will only shake once, before confirming, or breaking.
The ball can still break. I believe the odds are around 50/50.
