Hi all, new to the switch. Both my wife and I have a Nintendo Switch. I was wondering if it is possible for her to be on hers and me on mine but hook up to a multiplayer game together. Long ago on a different set, she could sit in her chair and me in mine and hook up and play golf against each other. Is this possible with the switch? Thanks in advance.

Most multi-player games on Switch have various options .... You can, for instance, usually share joy-cons to play on one, so you'd only need one copy of the game? If you do both have the game, most should allow you to play on separate Switches, as well! Do you want to tell us which game(s) you want to play together, so some here might know specifically?

@CChamp You're talking about Local or Local Wireless Multiplayer (works like bluetooth, Switch wifi must be on for this function). Many games with multiplayer support local wireless multiplayer, not all.

Thanks, everyone for the help. We have both downloaded a couple of cheap board games, also in about a week, PGA Tour 2K21 comes out. That's the one that we are really looking forward to. At $60.00 each tho, I don't know if we will be buying 2 of the games.

You have to look at the game description. It will say what kinda of multiple player setup you can use. And some will require each Switch to have the game to have multiplayer options and some don't.
