We can use this as a general discussion thread for the game, but I made this thread mainly to pose a question to those who bought the physical edition at launch.
How big is the day one update?
I'm on the fence, but given how crappy Take Two have been with their Switch physical releases so far, I want to know how much of the game is actually on the cartridge before considering a purchase.
Either way, I'll likely wait until this is available for AU$30 or less before i bite.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
Which is odd because the game itself was 8 something GB when I downloaded it. There recently was an update and it took a while because it was large, but now it shows the game basically the same size on my Micro SD card and has it broken up as shown. Strange.
It may have downloaded the update data from scratch (in bulk) and then replaced it with the existing patch (as sometimes patches are replaced with one of a smaller size, presumably due to developers eliminating superfluous/junk data).
When you purchase a game digitally, it would have downloaded the base software and any available patches simultaneously (digital games have "day one updates" too), hence why it may have seemed that the base game was 8GB from the get go.
Considering that about half of the game isn't on the cartridge, I'll skip it for the time being and consider it when it hits the proverbial bargain bin.
