Given the recent Metroid Prime Remaster release and Nintendo already being in a routine of porting Wii U games, as well as Microsoft and Sony doing similar things. I thought it would be interesting to come up with a list of games which could potentially receive a Metroid Prime style remaster for release on the Switch or its successor. I have ignored the Wii U (obviously) and systems on NSO. My list is:-
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Star Fox Adventures
Star Fox Assault
Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2
Super Mario 3D Land
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Metroid: Samus Returns
Eternal Darkness
Wave Race: Blue Storm
1080° Avalanche
F-Zero GX (some rumours are already circulating about a release)
BOTW 3 will be around 2030, so they'll want some Zelda titles for the first few years of the new system. Imagine Wind Waker or Twilight Princess with completely redone graphics in DLSS 4K!
Star Fox needs something, I think that franchise has potential.
I think The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is the most likely to actually happen. Would be nice if Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door got at least looked at by Nintendo.
@Kermit1 Yes to all of these, after Nintendo sees how well Metroid does I hope they’re more willing to do GameCube remasters! Please! Plus at a cheaper price, I would think I’m dreaming.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

If I was in charge of Nintendo, the main three I would do would be F Zero GX, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Kid Icarus Uprising.
They all fit in a perfect place of games Nintendo doesn't want to make a full new game for, but would make a sizable portion of fans very happy with simply a good enough remaster.
@Kermit1
Amiibo Festival could have good potential if we can play the characters without scanning the Amiibos all the time.
Also, more mini games added will make it better.
I like a remaster, I bought metroid prime remaster digital and will buy the physical version, but I really think Nintendo need to release some brand new games like they did on gamecube
@Grumblevolcano I think you're right, especially with the Game Boy and GBA added to NSO. I've always thought the best thing about the Switch is its potential to unite the home console and portable sides of Nintendo's legacy. It seems like Nintendo might finally be making that a reality.
That said, I do think this Metroid Prime Remaster could be a harbinger of things to come for bringing back GameCube/Wii games too. It's quite refreshing to see a sort of recognition that retro game nostalgia doesn't begin and end with the NES, SNES, and Genesis. Now we just need to convince Sega of that fact and get a few more Saturn and Dreamcast rereleases.
