@boop22 We've already got a pretty good idea for next year's software lineup. Travis Strikes Again, Daemon x Machina, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Yoshi 2019, possibly Bayonetta 3, and Core Pokenon Gen 8 are all big exclusive games coming next year. Of course I'd expect a few more first party games to be announced in the meantime though. I'm sure that Nintendo has at least one huge first party game coming out next year that no one's aware of yet to really push the Switch into next holiday season --Animal Crossing, maybe?

Mario Galaxy is ten years old, and now I feel old.

@ilikeike I mean, the hard part is that 3 of those titles were confirmed for first quarter during E3 (Travis, Daemon, FE:TH, Yoshi is rumored for April or May (substantiated by the title reveal leak) and Bayonetta 3 I think most people aren't expecting until 2020 from what I've seen.

So at the moment, there's a giant gap from May all the way until November that presumably will launch several titles we don't know about, or in Bayo 3/Prime 4's case don't expect for another year. At least, I hope we'll see stuff revealed that fits in there. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, whatever Next Level Games is working on, whatever Retro is working on (finally). HAL has released game(s) every year since 1999 other than 2012 and 2013, including one Kirby title. So I'd wager we'll see a Kirby game next year of some sort.

Camelot is presumably not launching another title until 2020 with Mario Golf... unless they finally make something other than a golf or tennis title.

I’d like a hero of time collection for switch, or a new zelda for 3ds.

Main things I'm hoping for is New Super Mario Bros Deluxe and that old Links Awakening rumor to come true. Was supposedly 3ds bound but I hope it's coming to the switch at this point. Some release dates for early 2019 games would be great as well but I doubt it.

Dezzy

IGN said there was a rumour that it's gonna be shown on the 13th. So basically a week like I said.

@StephanDLW

Nintendo should have 1 developer (maybe Tantalus) who are just working all the time on remasters of old classics. There are so many awesome games that you just can't play legally on any recent console.

Mario Sunshine being maybe the best example. The original Wii model was the last console that played that legally.

Grumblevolcano

@Dezzy GC games fall into the whole analog triggers problem though. Sunshine especially wouldn't play well without analog triggers.

Grumblevolcano

1UP_MARIO

@Grumblevolcano I 100% mario sunshine on a Wii u pro controller. If the homebrew community figured out a method years ago I’m sure Nintendo can find one too

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

Dezzy

@Grumblevolcano

I've got it running on my Wii U gamepad. Seems fine. Although I never played it on the GC so I wouldn't notice the difference.
Is it about how fast he shoots water out?

Octane

@Dezzy How does it work on the U?

You control the amount of water and distance by the amount of pressure you apply to the trigger. Pressing it all the way results in Mario standing still, and then you can use the control stick to control the direction. They're essentially two different modes in one button.

1UP_MARIO

@Dezzy @Octain if you play it on the Wii u gamepad or with a pro controller which doesn’t have analogue triggers the solution to this was to hold "L" on your wiiu pro controller, your inputs on ZL/ZR will be used as half pressed L and R buttons in-game, if you hold down 'L' and press 'ZR', you should be able to walk around while shooting water and totally playable

Dezzy

Oh actually I'd barely tried that. I misspoke. I'm thinking of a different game. I'd used the gamecube controller adapter to play mario Sunshine. So I hadn't tried the gamepad version that 1UP_MARIO mentions.

Octane

@1UP_MARIO Shouldn't it be the other way around? Half pressing allows you to walk around, and control the amount of water you shoot. Fully pressing it switches to the stationary mode.

Octane

1UP_MARIO

@Octane yes but when using Wii u pad it’s set automatically to full press and that’s why you can’t run around while using the water. You need to press the other button together with the spray to register it to think of the half spray.

You get use to it and it works completely

Tibob

Couldn't the gyro controls be used to replicate an analog ZR / ZL ? Like if you press the button and tilt the controller at the same time, the angle you tilt it determines how much you'd press.

Tibob

Octane

@Tibob If anything, gyro controls should be used for aiming.

Using the gyro to simulate the analog triggers sounds kinda gimmicky, and not intuitive at all.

Octane

Dezzy

I'll go and try it today at some point.

1UP_MARIO

@Octane proper controller is the way to go and I still have my gamecube hooked up. It’s just for those that want to play on the Wii u or handheld mode
