Topic: Nintendo 64 (Switch Online)

Rather than painting yourself. Isn’t it far far cheaper to just buy a Nintendo 64 and a copy of the game. Save your self on that gold paint @James_Bond

I'd think that GoldenEye would be close to the top of most people's lists, but it's got the same problem as re-releasing any film license. There would have been dozens of people who had to sign off on the release at the time, and they're all going to have to do it again for a re-release.

We're in with a much better shot at Perfect Dark though, as that'd be purely between Microsoft and Nintendo.

If we can't get goldeneye...then maybe we can hope for The World Is Not Enough?

I feel pretty confident that we're not getting either. It's obnoxious to get the rights, and by that point, the effort and money involved would be ludicrous for just another NSO release.

The way to always look at anything like this, is to first ask does the game I want to see re-released in any way contain any licenses or is based on a license property itself? Because if the answer is yes then there is already a massive chance it won't ever happen. Licenses are a massive nightmare which is why you see a lot of games being delisted from stores or in the case of GTA games, updated when licensed music expires.

@KoenM84 If they release GoldenEye with multiplayer it will unironically be the best traditional online FPS on the Switch.

I think in addition to the already confirmed Banjo-Kazooie, we'll get at least Banjo-Tooie and Perfect Dark.

Another interesting thing Banjo coming to NSO brings up is will SNES Rare games like Battletoads come to SNES NSO.

@Grumblevolcano I expect expect Diddy Kong Racing to come to NSO too, along with obviously Donkey Kong 64.

I do have one, however I've had an absolute nightmare trying to hook it up to any of my TV's. Unfortunately no room to get a CRT telly either. I even got 2 extra controllers to play with my kids.

@James_Bond oh you’d be surprised. There are many options. There’s the rgb route with scart to hdmi converters. The rgb route via component also vga. There’s a pixel fx hdmi although costly. Or you could also buy a OSSC which is magic.

So with only around 2 weeks of October left when do people think the date will be announced for the N64 games to be added and for the controller be available to order?

Good question. Probably next week, since this week is almost over. I would also be interested in the format that Nintendo will choose to present this information. Will it be a short video?

@RedRaven723 Probably towards the end of next week, this week's big news is the Animal Crossing Direct tomorrow and then Monday has Sora added to Smash. So perhaps Friday October 22nd given the price is no doubt going to be controversial.

@Grumblevolcano thanks for the reply. I expect you're probably right. With regards the price it would have to be extortionate for me to not get my wallet out, I'm soooo looking forward to playing these games again.

Before Banjo-Kazooie and Majora's Mask are available, I could hold out to upgrade, if the price is too high.

@dionysos283 it was revealed in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct and even NintendoLife made article. For USA it's prices for individual is 2,5 times (49,99$) then normal yearly price and for family 2,29 times (79,99$) then normal yearly price while for Europe both only 2 times only (39,99€ and 69,99€) then normal yearly prices. And now I'm happy that I live in Europe for this.
