Heh, well, they haven't done that many remakes yet, @StuTwo .... I missed out on the entries for Wii & Wii U, particularly, though! Perhaps a collection?
@BruceCM I think you're talking about the Radiance duology, Path of Radiance on GameCube and Radiant Dawn on Wii. Other than those two, all of the games post-SNES have been on portable hardware.
@BruceCM Lol, I'm saying those are the only two Fire Emblem games between the N64, the GameCube, the Wii, and the Wii U. There really aren't any other modern console ones before the recent 3 Houses on Switch.
I'd say that normal directs are probably gone until further notice. Nintendo can make directs, as they have been able to, but I guess it's just that they don't see normal directs as useful anymore. We'll probably get third party directs, and directs for non-game related things.

Until Nintendo can guarantee they will have enough trailers ready to show and have release dates organised and not be delayed, then there is no need for them to consider doing Directs any time soon. We still have no real idea how much last year screwed up Nintendo's development of games other than they were affected pretty bad compared to say Square Enix whom was able to pretty quickly make necessary changes to work from home. And with Japan now in a second lockdown, there will be likely further delays in their development of games.

@FragRed I mean, all we really can do is guess. We don't know if Nintendo's badly effected or not honestly. It could just be that they're trying to change the way they market things.

@VoidofLight True we know nothing about what goes on at Nintendo until it happens. Shadow drops are definitely easier and quicker to just get out there and can produce I imagine, similar levels of hype. Also no one game overshadows others this way. I do think partner showcases is still happening, that just seems logical - even for Nintendo.

@FragRed 1st party is definitely the problem, I counted up the time spent on 3rd party titles in 2019's general Directs and it's all around 15-17 minutes which is around the same length as the Partner Showcases that came after July.
I still think it's plausible that Nintendo might not have been affected as badly by the pandemic as it seems, but instead is deliberately holding back new games, because the Switch (and many older games) is still selling so well. In these uncertain times it would make sense for Nintendo to hold back games until Switch sales decline, or the pandemic worsens in Japan (which is happening now).
@Balta666
Why do you doubt it? Third party developers love it when Nintendo does a Direct for them, because they reach a much bigger audience this way. As a Twitter drop it will barely be noticed by most Switch users and EA knows it.
