@TheFrenchiestFry Oh my bad, haha. Though to be fair, Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG are moreso spin-offs than their own series. Like, you don't see Mario appearing in Donkey Kong Country aside from his cameo in 2.
Super mario sunshine on the GameCube. “ I don’t want to play on the GameCube. The game is terrible, controls are bad and that camera”
Super mario sunshine on switch.
“ this is the best thing ever. I love super mario sunshine. The last time I played it was over 15 years ago. Can’t wait”
😀
I've posted this before and I'm convinced now that I'm right, I think the next general direct we'll see is around E3 next summer, we'll get shadow drops, partner showcases and indie worlds until then...but does it really matter? since the 20th July we've had 2 partner showcases, an indie world, the Pikmin 3 Deluxe shadow drop and now the Mario Mini, plus loads of other 3rd party games announced (Gamescom etc) so it's not as if we're short of new stuff to play!
@MarioBrickLayer It really doesn't matter too much. The general Directs are fun and exciting so it would be my preferred method for getting announcements if given the choice but at the end of the day we'll be getting the same games regardless of how they're announced.
When covid happened I was hoping for a 3D world, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Windwaker HD holiday releases. But I never finished sunshine and I never played galaxy so I am happy with what we are getting. Nintendo is again pushing lots of toys with the game and watch, amiibos, Kart but over all I'm happy. On the other hand I'd much prefer Mario Kart 9. Am I going to spend as much on plastic as a series x costs. Maybe? Depends on my self control. Anyways I'm happy a broken clock is right twice a day and the news finally dropped. Even if you didn't like what you saw it still is better to know what's coming than to be constantly waiting. I mean even my local transit authority has on every bus route the eta of the next train. I'm happy Nintendo is no longer keeping us in the dark.
@damien33ad Sunshine is only that expensive because of the artificial scarcity Nintendo creates for it and other retro games in order to sell low-effort ports like these at a full price. That being said, if there's any reason for me to pick this up, it's Sunshine (because I don't have a way to play GameCube games legally). But I can't see myself doing that at $60.
This is more of a personal thing, Nintendo would have a lot more of my money if they allowed their games to go on sale a reasonable amount, but once again they're being left in the dust by other companies (FFVII was $40, TLOU2 $45, and Doom Eternal $30 6 months after launch - meanwhile BOTW, Odyssey, and MK8D are still $60 and never below $40 three years after they released).

@ianl579 They used to put games on sale, have a Nintendo selects program and do other pro-consumer stuff during the Wii U/3DS era (during the imaginary game drought). That seems to have died with Iwata.
Sunshine is not worth paying full-price in any universe, but I don't really have a problem with games being rereleased so long as they don't lock significant new content behind the $80 pricetag. The 3D All-stars collection (good day for leakers and their stans) is bare-bones (besides a sound test), so I don't really have a problem with it. The 3D World port can go love itself on the other hand.
@ianl579 Sunshine is that expensive because people are willing to sell and buy it at that price. Saying Nintendo creates an artificial scarcity of a game released 4 consoles ago just so they can sell it for an equivalent of $20 in the new pack is a bit of a stretch.

@Euler Sure. For me, as someone who bought it on the Wii U and had a blast with it, whether I purchase it again depends entirely on the quality and scale of the Bowser's Fury expansion.

@HobbitGamer People are willing to sell and buy it at that price because Nintendo controls the supply. I suppose artifical scarcity isn't the best term but with so many companies making their retro catalog avaliable on modern platforms, I have a hard time with Nintendo not doing the same. The YouTuber Arlo made an excellent video about this topic ("Lack of Legacy Content on Switch Hurts Nintendo More Than Us"). And $20 is a reasonable price for Sunshine in my book. If Nintendo sold on its own for that price (like they did for some Wii games on the Wii U eShop) I would pick it up for sure. I'm just not willing to pick it up with the collection since I already own 64 and Galaxy (but that's unique to my situation, not blaming Nintendo for that.)

That argument is total nonsense. People are willing to spend a lot on retro games because they are so rare and collectible. Nintendo has very little to do with that.

I am sorry but this is one of the most idiotic thing I ever heard.... GameCube games are expensive because GC sold like crap therefore there are not many copies around. What were you expecting? Nintendo do make dozens of millions of copies just for you to buy 20 years later... That company was Atari not Nintendo lol...
Expect Wii u to be even worse 15 years from now
