You'd think people would have learned not to believe rumors at some point.
"Y-yeah, I know I was left bitterly disappointed by buying into the last 500 rumors about Nintendo that were posted online, b-but this one is the real deal, I swear!"

@Ralizah Have you seen the way the leakers are being defended on Twitter? There’s a lot of people saying it’s not their fault and then turning their anger on Nintendo for not fulfilling a promise they never made.
One person even went as far as saying if the Mario Collection isn’t real, it’s all Nintendo’s fault not the leakers because apparently they should have known to make the collection a reality based upon the excitement caused by rumours.
It’s almost like Nintendo can’t win with these people, but the people who say they have inside information, they’re good to keep talking crap because they’ll believe them no matter what.

i though there was going to be a NSO gameboy, the mini direct said you can purchase them final fantasy games not that they were free with NSO? looking forward to the remastered final fantasy game though.
I honestly think Nintendo is not going to release any normal livestreamed general Directs in 2020. I believe all upcoming 3rd party games will either be announced by the publishers themselves or in Partner Showcases, while Nintendo's first party titles will be announced via social media & YouTube like how Paper Mario The Origami King and Pikmin 3 DX were revealed.
As for upcoming content, even if you don't believe in the existence of the Mario 3D Collection (you should, because it's real), Nintendo still has to talk about The Crown Tundra and the next Smash Bros Ultimate fighter, so unless those DLC have been delayed into next year (which seems unlikely, especially for the Pokemon DLC as details have already leaked), we should hear about them soon.
And if Bloomberg and United Daily News are to be believed with regards to the Switch Pro, then Nintendo will have to detail their 2021 games (ala Breath of the Wild 2, New Pokemon Snap, SMTV) pretty soon as well
@FragRed That doesn't surprise me. A lot of Switch owners struck an entitled, angry tone about Persona 5's fabled Switch port as well. How DARE it not be real!
Like... if people care that much, they should just play the games. All these games Switch owners keep whining about and pining for? They're ALL released, and have been for years. They can emulate them, or buy cheap a Wii/PS3 to play them, or whatever.

@status-204 Nobody cares? Huh, then I guess when this vocal minority sends abusive messages and tweets to certain people in the gaming industry (some even being death threats), it's not a big deal because nobody cares - it's only the vocal minority. And I have seen a fair few people who operate these branded Twitter accounts say on their own personal accounts how much stress and anxiety etc these social minorities cause them both through the company accounts and personal ones. That's how the vocal minority works.

You can't fix stupid. All Nintendo and everyone else can do is try to ignore them. Most of the whingers will still buy Nintendo's products when they do release them anyway.
Man, Harmonix keeps releasing games, clearly hoping they'll be popular again, and they never are. I feel kinda bad for them. But then they start talking about emojis in their games, and I stop feeling bad for them.
Also, I wanna try Puyo Tetris someday, I've heard nothing but great things.
@westman98 There's a decent chance that we won't get Smash DLC 2-3 until next January/February, it was never confirmed for this year after all. Crown Tundra is coming but... frankly I don't care. I didn't get Isle of Armor, won't get that. I think I might actually finally be done with main series Pokemon, weird as it is to say as someone who's gotten every game at launch since Red launched in the 90s. And I've played Pikmin 3 to death already. So selfishly speaking, I hope that isn't really all they have planned to last us through next June (+ another Wii U port, probably 3D World), but I kinda expect it is.
@Ninfan FF Legends / Mana Collection doesn't confirm or deconfirm Gameboy on NSO, any more than the Megaman Legacy Collection and X Collection deconfirmed NES/SNES. We likely will get a new system this year, but it's not confirmed. And it might not be Gameboy, but GBA or N64 or DS, who knows?
@westman98 I think if we don't get a general Direct by September 17th, there won't be one. I could see there being one on either September 10th or September 17th (September 3rd is probably too close to today's Partner Showcase) though undecided which is more likely. I guess it comes down to when Microsoft and Sony finally break the silence, pretty sure Switch is the currently the shortest gap between price and release (January 12th to March 3rd) outside of really odd stuff like Saturn's shadow drop.
I think there will be a direct on the 28th. It's Nintendo's last chance before next week's as then it will have been a year since the last general direct. Nintendo could be done with general directs. But they may not be. At This point and how long it's been since the last general direct, we know something is going on. I think they will announce a direct for Friday late tomorrow night 10pm. If there isn't one announced tommorow . I am changing my profile picture to Justin beiber.
@Grumblevolcano
I really dont think Nintendo cares about when Sony and Microsoft unveil their price info. They will announce stuff when and how they feel like it.
They'll probably only be sonewhat concerned if the next gen consoles are like $/€200-250 as that could heavily undercut Nintendo's price advantage, but that isnt going to happen.
You might as well do that now .... There won't be a direct! If you're lucky, there'll be some new game trailer appear! That's not very likely but it's a lot more so than another direct this week Maybe there can be another mini next week but I wouldn't get my hopes up for that
I doubt we're getting a general Direct this year. There might be another first party release that we don't know about but they'll likely just shadow drop a trailer again. That seems to be their method of choice for announcing first party games for the time being.
Am I the only one annoyed by the routine use of the word "deconfirmed"? If something was never actually confirmed, how can it be deconfirmed? That just means a poorly founded guess was wrong. Also, it's not even a proper word, that would be 'disconfirmed'. As in, a discounted theory.
In the context of clutching pearls over the next big thing, the next direct, the next fighter in Smash or what may or may not be sold by a company whose sole function is to make money, guesses can't be "confirmed until proven otherwise'.

Like I said before, I don't expect there to be another general Direct until March at the earliest. In the mean time we can expect more Partner Showcases and shadow dropped 1st party announcements, as well as a Sakurai livestream for the next Smash fighter.
I also think it's safe to assume that Bravely Default II and No More Heroes 3 are 2021 titles at this point.
@Grumblevolcano
I don't think Nintendo cares that they are the last to present at E3 or any other events. Other companies just so happen to present before them.
Anyways, with Lego Star Wars seemingly delayed, I don't think I'm gonna be buying any new games for Switch for the rest of the year other than Fight Crab.
I'm honestly okay with this though because I have a backlog to play through. That being said I haven't been playing video games too much lately anyways. Just not enough time for it with work and other aspects of life. It's mostly just been Smash or Mario Kart with my friends.
