To be perfectly honest, I've given up on expecting anything meaningful from Nintendo this year, and I am not convinced 2021 will be any better. The only thing exciting me about 2021 so far is SMT (thanks Atlus).
Maybe a mini direct or partner showcase aling with a nindie direct, but anything meaningful? Nope.
I remembered saying this back at the beginning of the month. Lo and behold, it still holds true for me. I was joking about the partner showcase and nindie direct but... shrug
The highlight of the presentation just now was probably Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, but I am not even sure that a sequel was needed or wanted. 2020 has been a wasteland.
@MS7000 If Nintendo aren’t fully back up and running before year ends, and even if they do get back up and running they still have months to of development time to catch up on, I am totally expecting a repeat of 2020 next year. The odd Deluxe port chucked out with maybe one or two smaller new titles and a lot of partner showcases.

@FragRed I have no doubt that Covid completely messed up plans they had and will do for the foreseeable future so I was sort of expecting 2021 to suck anyway, but it irks me that Nintendo have repeatedly insisted at finance meetings that games that were planned for release this year are still being release as scheduled. If that is true (and not just a lie to save face at the meetings), then we can assume output this year is representative of the original plan. In that case, Nintendo have dropped the ball as far as I am concerned. Too many eggs in the AC basket (If you enjoy, I am happy for you). Too many ports, and not enough new games.

I've been saying for ages that we won't see a Direct as have known them until E3 next year, but I wouldn't be shocked if there was a Mario announcement (mini or shadow drop) on Friday.
Who was it that said 100% there will be a Direct this coming Friday? Unless they went in a time machine and saw the future they can’t claim 100% certainty for anything. That’s like the weatherman saying 100% certainly of rain tomorrow.
Same as the last time, nothing i am looking forward to. That boxing game looked okay i guess, depends on the price.
I just hope that that wasn't the direct that was leaked..
@Don slowdive. He ignored me for asking him what happened to his predictions and why he suddenly changed his avatar. Maybe you'll get a better response
@sixrings Oh he’s probably sulking because the rumours he put so much faith into didn’t come true. Or he’s put you on the ignore list so doesn’t get any notifications that you’ve asked him.

Star Fox Grand Prix had the double effect of showing how incredibly gullible leakers and their stans can be. It would be a pretty clever move if Nintendo really did something like that.
