@Sigran102 The person who started the Tera-leak said that Khu is like 70% wrong with info this year. I wouldn't take Khu at their word.

@PikminMarioKirby I feel like they'd probably address the older fans in the next Animal Crossing instead of making a remake of New Leaf. Either that, or abandon all of their old fans and continue in New Horizon's direction, given that it sold well.

I'd probably extend that to Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Splatoon and similar such titles.

Those series and Mario Maker don't really feel necessary to bring back games (outside of NSO), but MK8 Deluxe proves they can bring back Mario Kart (I'd say Double Dash is unique enough to bring back as well).

The Wii U -> Switch transition is fairly unique and I don't think any of those titles that were ported across really count. At least not in the context of this discussion. It being moved across to Switch was more just a case of Nintendo going through the Wii U Library and migrating all of those titles across. Also Mario Kart 8 at the time of the Switch launch was still relatively new and the DLC was even newer. Deluxe was more of a "game plus DLC bundle" that happened to be a port than a re-release

If they were to revisit the mechanics of Double Dash in a Mario Kart I would think they'd be more likely to do it in an entirely new Mario Kart. Honestly the only way I can see them revisiting any of their old Mario Kart games in a kind of remaster of the old title is if they go the F-Zero 99 route. Super Mario Kart 99 or similar........

....... actually, now that I think about it. I think a full remake of Super Mario Kart would be pretty damn awesome. New tracks in that style, maybe some new items, more players on the course, online, four player split screen. I'd be super into that

@FishyS
I would like to see new Animal Crossing on Switch 2 with same feature from ACNH (Villagers will not moving out by themself unless we kick them out intentionally).
I want to see 3D world, full camera angle of new Animal Crossing game, more crafting, more building the house, more gesture & emotion for making our photoshoot / short video, and definitely less chatterbox conversation.

I want the next animal crossing game to let villagers move out on their own and for flowers to wilt and die if not watered. Give toggles for people to disable them- but the games aren’t the same without stuff like that. I want to feel like the world actually exists while I’m away from the game. Not something that only progresses if I’m playing it.

Nintendo has been completely silent since November 14th (Thursday), their last presence was reminding people about Lego Horizon Adventures.

@Novamii It's a simple fix like that, yeah. Allowing people to pick if they want the New Horizons playstyle or if they want the playstyle to stay similar to previous games.

@Novamii @VoidofLight Personally I would like a mix. Having control over everyone's lives doesn't make sense but people moving houses every few weeks also makes no sense. I think it would be neat if there was a rental cabin area where people moved in and out of and another more permanent home area. I think that would be a way to mix up the formula without upsetting people only used to New Horizons.

@FishyS Ehh the villagers in New Leaf don’t move out every other week. Mainly when you abandon your town for weeks on end is when tons of villagers decide to leave.

FishyS

@Novamii Or they could make it so making people move or stay is harder 😆 Bribe them with a million bells to stay; sneak into their house and release roaches to make them leave 👀

@VoidofLight Joking aside, the whole leaving because you didn't log on makes no sense to me. The villager's lives shouldn't be so centered on the player.

@Grumblevolcano I don’t use Twitter anymore but I know Xbox has set up a Bluesky account. Maybe Nintendo are considering or are making that move over too and that why they stopped posting on Twitter.

Whoever thinking by losing the villagers from Animal Crossing as a joy in the game, I will say "I HATE THAT IDEA."
I bust my butt to get the dreamy villagers and I have to keep them stay forever.
ACNH is my favorite Animal Crossing because I can take control the island and villagers will never moving out by themself unless I kick them out intentionally.
This is the gameplay I want, hooray for able to keep my villagers forever.

@Anti-Matter I’m only advocating for options. Options to be able to play the game series as it was originally. New Horizons feels soulless because it’s a hostage situation. One that doesn’t really keep the magic that the series was originally known for.

@Grumblevolcano And so far still nothing. It's really weird how quiet Nintendo has been, although I really don't think we have much else left to hear from Nintendo this year. Surprised Nintendo hasn't even been making Fortnite or Brothership tweets.

@Grumblevolcano Do you think Japan and US will have that announced too if they haven't already? I saw the UK one and it looks like a pretty big sale.

Looks like No Direct about upcoming games on this November and probably on this December too so I can enjoy my other games without speculating too much about Switch 2.

Last year the US sale started around 4 days later than the UK sale. I looked back at an even earlier year and it was a 2 day gap so apparently it isn't totally consistent.

@FishyS That makes sense, I didn’t know that it was separate before! My guess is that it’ll be Wednesday or later this week.

Will we be due a direct for Christmas, maybe a mini ?❓💭🎌🇯🇵

@Ninfan Hate to break it to you, but we don't get December directs. No chance we're getting a direct until 2025.
