Yeah it's like with the DS. Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 came out in America right after the 3DS released, and both still sold well (technically they were the worst selling games in the series), but still well.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
Random mini rant, but I sincerely hope Nintendo improves the eShop on Switch 2. I was looking at the sale tab, and there's multiple actually notable games that I had to scroll WAYYYY down to see, such as Penny's Big Breakway, Mega Man 11, the Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak Deluxe Edition bundle, and Resident Evil Revelations.
There's no reason stuff like that should be buried that far down under a mountain of shovelware. Absolutely none. Nobody is gonna scroll that far to find games, especially when it's as slow as it is.
What the eShop needs is some way to show and sort games by rating. User ratings would be nice but I'd even take metacritic TBH. And ideally if they could also show average playtime and/or a trending played game list that'd be nice
The games people are buying is useless information to me. What I want to know is what games people are playing and what they liked

@VoidofLight B2W2 outsold Platinum, Emerald, and Crystal as third versions. It only sold worst if you consider individual version sales, but that's not really apples-to-apples.
@VoidofLight oh that's absolutely true. BW sold terribly, but B2W2 sold better than usual due to so many people having skipped BW. Which is a shame, I'd rank it my second favorite gen.
@FishyS Kinda a misleading graph there lol. Sun & Moon & USUM only outsold BW and B2W2 by just over a million copies, while DPPt only outsold them BW+B2W2 by about 100,000. Meanwhile Gen2 outsold just about every other set of base games. Including remakes kinda weighs the graph weirdly.
If Gen 5 had a remake it'd have been punching with the rest. The generation as a whole didn't underperform the way people tend to think, just the first two games.
@Grumblevolcano I kind of don’t expect one this month at this point, alongside a September Direct too. I would probably expect an Expansion Pack game in October at some point, but maybe there is a chance they will instead add it in a few days, but I think chances of that happening are slim for some reason.

If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Flippy from Happy Tree Friends.
After having watched the State of Play and Xbox TGS event I'm not really sure what the apparent moving up the Partner Showcase from September to August thing was about. Only thing that comes to mind is about the Palworld situation.
@Pastellioli Early tomorrow UK time being a NSO Expansion Pack shadow drop is the last chance.
@Grumblevolcano Can’t believe Nintendo would have been afraid of being overshadowed by Sony and Microsoft? They usually don’t care too much about having a Direct around the same timeframe as Sony or Microsoft.

@FragRed I wasn't thinking overshadowing but rather something to do with Switch 2 3rd party support. So like if Microsoft announced FFXVI for Xbox in the TGS event, Switch 2 reveal would be close by announcing the Switch 2 version.
A nintendo direct not happening in september, just strengths the possibility of a switch 2 announcement at the next direct in my opinion. Guess they wanted zelda and everything Else to have its moment, before the big bang direct thats been pushed to october.
@Grumblevolcano I was really hoping for the announcement this month when the Directs were both moved to the same day, but I’m beginning to wonder whether Nintendo did so because they had no new first party games to announce so instead decided to focus September onwards on the 3 games they’ve got in the pipeline for the year.

I feel like I'm on a different planet to everyone else. I'm sat patiently waiting for February for the reveal. If it happens any time sooner, then awesome! But I haven't seen anything that makes me think it's sooner (especially this year.) And no...folk saying delayed this and pushed forward that don't mean anything. Oh look, Nintendo "obviously" cleared their September slate...for no reason at all.
