Topic: New Switch Accessories?

It's been reported numerous times that Nintendo has chosen a different route with the NS, according to Mr. Kimishima, the Switch will benefit from accessories rather than getting revisions (for customization and features purposes).. This got a lot of NS players and Nintendo fans speculate the next big accessories (not the plastic Wii addons lol) and even third parties had been attempting several times to make the Switch hardware better (JoyCon shells, alternative controllers, power banks, portable docks...et cetera)... But none of these ideas had a major effect on the software development direction or how the games played. Therefore, I've been thinking of how no games took advantage of the vertical mode of the Switch tablet.. Imagine an add-on accessory that can make the Switch more like an old school gameboy maybe an accessory that cover the bottom portion of the screen but with face buttons that would benefit from the Multi-Touch screen that the NS has.

Is that an attempt to draw your idea, or did you fall asleep on the keyboard?

That sounds interesting, though it does sound like it relies on people supporting their Switch's weight entirely on one hinge/clasp which could lead to the joycons becoming looser. Maybe the design could slot onto the Switch on both the top & bottom rails & feature a back support to help carry the load?

To be fair though, if you take one of the joycons off & hold it in landscape... you pretty much have a Gameboy setup already.

Hahaha yes that was a failed attempt, it changed after it uploaded lol
And yes, that's exactly how I would describe the idea. It would be amazing for VC games tbh. Let's wait and see...

Make the Switch better as what? A construction material?

What about a Nintendo DS controller + grip?

I just wish that more games could be played with the touch screen alone.

Like VOEZ?
Hmm, having a game include touch GUI when playing in "joy-less" mode is an interesting idea...

Agreed those games will come out haven't tried if Kirby All Stars can do that but that sounds interesting to try out here.

I don't remember the title's name that well, but I guess there is a Japanese rhythm game that can be played Joyless lol

I don't think platformers would work so well. I'm talking puzzle games, strategy games, adventure games, visual novels. Game genres that are already proven to work on the mobile market. The Day We Found Earth is a prime example.
