I think Nintendo likes putting new on everything. Like for example New Super Mario Bros. We will see how new this is. I think it’s great that they are making a new one. N64 is so old now.

@toiletduck I would say we don't know FOR SURE. But the trailer certainly looked similar to original Pokemon Snap in its smooth motion to appear at least predominately on rails, in addition to the original being entirely on rails, it seems a logical deduction.
Man, really played Pkmn Snap a lot back in the days. So many great memories. One of my favorite games on the N64. It was short, but fun. I hope this new title is a bit longer. It looks gorgeous.
Honestly the graphics and presentation of this game look really fantastic, but I wish it was just one part of a bigger project.
Basically every open world game includes a “photo mode” that gives you grades, so the novelty of this sort of game may have worn off. I certainly had fun with Pokémon Snap on the N64, but that was back in the day when 3D games were a new novelty.
Not sure if the concept will have quite the same appeal now, but I’m hoping for a fun time.
Looks pretty cool - not really anything too surprising there though. But tbh I think that's exactly what people want - just a modern Pokemon Snap.
Strange that they're going with the "New" naming convention again but...I guess it fits?
Also, interestingly, the trainer looks a lot like how I'd imagine the Let's Go Johto protagonist to look (hair, backwards cap, red jacket, complexion). Wonder if this is a coincidence or a purposeful nod to the potential for these games.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

@jump you just end up mixing a dates, because in video below release date there is pre-order date too which of is January 14th. So in other words you pick release month and pre-order day as date in your post. So I believe you end up so just too excited and mixed up 2 dates in 1.

I love what I've seen of the game so far. I have no nostalgia for the first game - I played it on the Wii U VC a couple years ago - but it's still pretty solid mechanically. It won't be Day 1, but I'll definitely be grabbing it. Seems like quite a nice game to relax with.
Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)
I'm wondering if there'll be a demo or something, since I'm on the fence about if I want to get this or not. Part of me wants to get it to see what it's about, but 60 dollars seems like a lot for a game where you just take pictures on rails. Especially one that's pretty short. Hoping for a demo.
