I'm having a blast with this game. It's much easier to play than I anticipated.

I think having the same save file in Generations though, and keeping the 3DS next to me to reference... that's made things exponentially easier. I wanted to equip a different charm and decorations, and was able to do so by looking at Generations. And a little help from Kiranico.

Items sets and saved armor sets are a huge help though.

Yeah, getting lost in menus/materials sometimes, but it's no big deal for me.

Not my screenshots. These are reference guides being passed around by community members. My screenshots were earlier with the red text. High rank Garuga with Brave Style Seregios Long Sword (and I gotta say, Brave Style is legit- man I'm gonna miss this style in World... well, actually maybe it's best to leave the styles to this one game- but I really do love them, even if I wouldn't necessarily want them in every game, they are truly amazing in this game... Brave is just incredible fun to play with a long sword- I haven't learned the guard points yet but that doesn't matter. It's just crazy fun)

You guys should have joined in. Me and TeeJay have been hunting all morning. Some epic showdowns! He's sincerely thanking me for convincing him to import. I think we both realize it's been way easier than we thought it would be.

And now we're all set up. I have custom English chat messages, multiple armor/weapon/style loadout sets, multiple item sets (so you don't have to deal with finding stuff to bring with you before each quest)... it's become a well oiled machine at this point. We went through all his key quests for low rank, and now we're just casually enjoying Hi rank, going down the list of quests...

Got the farm going, keep Meownster Hunters going between quests... everything is good! It's glorious seeing these Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate maps in HD. And Deserted Isle... hunting a Rathalos and Rathian at the same time... that sure brings back memories from MH3U. But man, the MH4U maps look fantastic. As do the Generations maps. Heck they all look fantastic... but when I was playing MH4U I soooo longed to see it all in HD. That time has finally come

@JaxonH I am stuck at work in Houston with this hurricane lol. Just been playing some games with my kiddos sense I can't be home with them.

Never thought I'd actually start recognizing some language here and there....xD

The Narkarkos Quest was fun today. Every quest is a thrill getting to see with the monsters look like on an HD television. I really like how the Misty Peaks look, and the icy map from the demo...

Would love to have you join us! If you do get a Switch at some point, you can always follow a simple guide to make your 3DS capable of converting the save data. Its worth it, I think.

How long do you think til you're grounded in the online portion, like say, 2 or 3 star quests? The sooner you make it to high rank we can all hunt. Which you only need to beat HR3 to hit high rank at the hub. I can always help with some beginner armor...

I am pretty much done with 3* though, just gotta deal with Malfestio. I'm ok with armor, though...lol

So do Vita cases.

People wouldn't want to buy Switch games in a tiny little 3" case. The whole point is to make it bigger specifically because the cartridge is so small. Easy to see, easy to find. Still enough room for a manual (and the game did come with a transfer guide manual for 3DS to Switch, I just removed it)

By the way, if Jaxon's help isn't enough for you...I did find out about RedmonStache's youtube channel. He's doing XX import guides, so far he has 4 videos. Figured I would point that out.

Carted once to a Gendrome, FML. I really need some practice with this charge blade. Getting through these 2 star quest now I am set up at a hotel.

I mean, I guess they could, but they could also just make em how they've done here. Nomatter how they make the cases, someone could ask why they weren't made another way.

I guess the designers felt this looked the best, with the best sweet spot for length, width and thickness, and conveys "uncompromised home console game" rather than "lesser, watered down handheld game"... Which is probably the message that would have been sent had it been 3DS sized cases.

Ya, they're taller but also much thinner. And I think they're actually not quite as wide.

All in all Switch cases are pretty small.... the perfect size case if you ask me. At least, for Switch games. I can appreciate slightly larger X1 and PS4 cases for disc based games.
