Ya. Think GameXplain or Digital Foundry or someone did a video on it. The issue was streaming assets fast enough, and the on board storage is ever so slightly faster, so the drops were shorter and less severe, but only by a tiny bit. They recommended ppl play from internal storage.
Ever since, I've been paranoid and put games on internal storage out of a hail Mary attempt to smooth them out ever so slightly.

I had my first defeat with a boss now I restarted from the second village and i have to re do all the way up to the boss for a second fight aff and i was not under levelled just the right level kk
But on Switch I never ran into him. I did see sleeping Tigrex though, and I triple carted. I was so close, too! I really thought I was gonna pull through.

@Ralizah
Ya, I was playing docked. Handheld legitimately plays great.
I think also it was Ys IX that had frustrated me just before that. So dealing with the stuttering in Ys, then immediately after seeing a choppy framerate in MHS2 on the way to and at Ruto Village (docked) just pushed me over the edge.
I've since come back to MHS2 docked and, while it's not perfect, it doesn't seem nearly as bad as I thought. Maybe it was just that one area, and I assumed the whole rest of the game would be like that. Ys had put me in an irritable mood, and I think I had a short fuse tolerance going into it that day.
And ya, instant win for low level enemies and 3X speed makes the game so enjoyable. They knew exactly what to do to minimize tedium, and I love it.
I'm amazed at how fun it is. Would you think I'm crazy if I said I might even like this game as much as Rise? Cause I think I might.

@aresius I though so. They allways give you a save/rest point before the big bosses fight
If you go for a hard challenge sidequest that is different though
@Ralizah
Speakers are good enough but a headset or headphones are really where the experience is at.
I use my Arctis 1 wireless, which has a slim, low profile USB-C dongle, for my Switch Lite, PC and PS5. Amazing sound. I also have the Arctis 9 wireless, which has a larger corded dongle you set on the entertainment stand, for my docked Switch. Great wireless audio, and it also includes Bluetooth to connect to your phone simultaneously to mix Discord audio if needed.
But ya, I love gaming with a headset for audio now. Sometimes I don't just because I'm not in the mood, but most of the time, I use a headset. Once you acclimate to high quality audio it's hard to go back.

Yay. Hot elf guy is a big upgrade from the girl in the starter village.
They could remove Navirou from this game and literally nothing of value would be lost. I prefer my mascot characters less... chatty. It's like having Meowth from the Pokemon anime as a life partner.
@JaxonH So when does this monster culling ritual open up? I don't really want to have to start releasing some of my monsters, but I'm OCD about the randomly generated dens, so I have multiple duplicates of the same three or four starter monsters.
Or is that the Rite they keep mentioning back in town?
Has anybody here tried getting the royal Tigrex or Monoblos to retreat to their dens to get their eggs? If so, have you been able to get the golden or rainbow shining eggs from their nests?
@Ralizah
Also, I've grown to like Naviru. He's my little buddy. Got'm decked out in a Nerg suit. Before I had him in Pukei gear. How can anyone hate this little guy... look at him. He's such a fierce warrior 😀

@theepictorkoal Yes. There's just a very small chance to get a rainbow one, I wouldn't say it's worth several tries as I'm sure that there will be stronger monsters to recruit without advancing that much.
About Navirou: He's kinda annoying, but personally I find it somewhat cute. I think that people exaggerate way too much about him.
@roy130390 Thanks for clarifying. For now I'm really more trying to get some of my newer party members up to speed so I figured might as well train on Tigrex and Monoblos since I can beat them most of the time now. With paintballs and the Rathian armor I figured I should try getting eggs too.
I'm more so just aiming for the gold egg since I figured rainbows would be that rare.
@theepictorkoal No problem! Yeah, golden eggs are much faster to obtain. I did get a rainbow Tigrex egg fast, bur trying to replicate that with Monoblos was taking way too long and eventually decided that it wasn't worth it since these monsters won't last that long being relevant.
@JaxonH LOL Character that won't shut up irritate the heck out of me, and I've already had a few cutscenes of this animal making a fool of itself. I'm guessing the game won't let me sacrifice him to make use of his genes, huh?
I will say this, though: I've always found Felynes in the mainline games to be sort of creepy. Bipedal, semi-realistic cats skeeve me out. But they actually look really cute in this art-style. I know it'll never happen, but I'd LOVE a mainline MH game in this sort of stylized anime-inspired aesthetic. It's so pretty.
And yeah, I guess I should just push on with the story until I unlock the Rite. It's so hard to arrive in this new region with new monsters and not compulsively poke into every nook and cranny and try to collect as many monsters as possible, but even with two storage upgrades, I'm already starting to push against the limits of my capacity.
Also have learned to enjoy the battle system. Still wish I had more control over my party members, as this feels a little bit like going back in time to Persona 3 on the PS2 when you only had full control over your main character, but the AI is intelligent enough that it's not too big of an issue. Definitely enjoy fighting alongside my monsters like in SMT.
@roy130390 Right now it's looking like my team is more based on the monstie field abilities so Tigrex and Monoblos would most likely stay in rotation at least for ivy climb and burrowing respectively. Though since quick battles and boosted experience gains for lower levels were introduced, that might change eventually.
I also noticed some monsties have different field skills compared to the first game. Qurupeco can't call wild monsters and Basarios doesn't have lava walking.
