FYI, they did add more Apex. Both Apex Mizutsune and Apex Rathalos.

Presumably, Apex Diablos and Apex Zinogre will be added in Title Update 5.

Seregios Lens and Shagaru Magala mantle, in the same hunt! And a Gore Magala mantle 3 hunts ago! I went a few hunts without anything and thought my streak was over. Got FOUR Magnamalo orbs and no mantle on a double Magnamalo quest. Was like yup, desire sensor back in action.

But it seems the luck continues. I am genuinely flabbergasted at how many good drops I'm getting. It's unprecedented. And it's exciting because it opens up so many possibilities.

Anyways, finally unlocked Fugen and Galleus, the last of the Followers. Got an award for unlocking everyone.

And have officially done every Follower Quest. Now it's onwards to the support surveys. And a full roster of Followers to help lead the way.

Personally, I love Galleus and Fugen together. I also love Arlow and Galleus. Rhondine and Fioraynne pair well, Hinoa and Minoto pair well, Jae and Luchika pair well, and Utsushi and Jae pair well. The whole "mentor/trainee" dynamic plays out really well.

But I really have an affinity for Arlow. He's so good. Though I must admit, I really, genuinely, truly do love them all. Even Jae surprised me. It's the banter. Gotta crank those voice lines to 100% in the menu for full effect.

@JaxonH Dataminers uncovered that rare drop-rates have been increased by 400-500% from the update and might not have been intentional. If unintended Capcom will likely patch that out soon.

Ya, that doesn't sound intentional. Especially since the rates are the same in the menu. If it was intentional they'd change it in there.

Unless...

Unless they wanted to make people think they're still just as rare so they feel just as exciting, but secretly make them easier to get so people get that dopamine rush more. That's some 4D chess maneuvering, but I could see it.

Better stock up now while the getting is good! They could patch it out at any second.

...I'm so glad anomaly quest levels increase faster now, especially low leveled quests. Also yeah, Followers may not do too much damage, but it's enough to make multi-hunt quests less stressful and I can deal with most of them much faster.

@JaxonH I'll see if I can find it, the link was in a Youtube video I watched and has subsequently been buried from the dozens of Update 3 videos I watched in the past 24 hours. 🤣

It's a channel that focuses on Monster Hunter and had interviews with the devs so I'm fairly confident the info was legit, but I really should have bookmarked that link. 😅

@Joeynator3000 Luchika is crazy good, but only with Heavy Bowgun. Every other weapon she has she sucks SO badly with. 🤣

@TowaHerschel7 I just left her with her default weapon, which is the heavy bowgun...but she faints way too much, lol.

@Joeynator3000 Well, what does your other character have equiped? You need a character with better defense to either draw aggro or be a meat shield for her. Fiorayne is good choice with longsword to continually draw aggro and she also counters monsters a ridiculous amount of the time with that weapon, also any defensive character with a lance is great at keeping attention off of Luchika.

I usually just go for offensive/balanced types.

I'm wondering if what you read was referring to rare talismans, as those were made easier to get in this title update with the new melding options.

I've searched the internet high and low- every subreddit, every YT video, every possible whisper of Title Update 3 drop rates, and I can't find a single mention anywhere.

These Followers make quests so much more tolerable when trying to 100% every quest in the game. I start with the first Follower, then sequentially pair them with every other Follower until all pairs have been exhausted. Then I move to the second Follower and sequentially pair with all followers after them, and so on. It keeps things fresh with a new pairing dynamic each hunt.

Got another Contrary Scale from Chaotic, and just now another double Rathian mantles. That Good Luck 3 + Partbreaker 3 + Rewards Meal Skill should never be wasted. Whenever I get that food skill I pick a quest with a monster I need something from.

Just fought Magma Almudron for the first time in a support survey. Didn't realize I hadn't fought him yet. His fight was excellent. Also finally crafted the Violet Mizutsune Greatsword. Purple for daaays. No more Handicraft needed which means I can swap that armor piece for something else now.

This is the most epic tournament battle I've ever seen! It literally comes down to the winner having 1 HP left!

Minoto and Hinoa with HH as followers feel almost busted since they dish out so many buffs. Not that I am complaining though, I'll gladly take all the help that I can get

I like Fiorayne because she heals with Dust of Life and rides multiple monsters during the hunt.

She pairs well with Hinoa HH, Hinoa Bow, and Galleus SA.

They're all fun and good in their own right though. I like mixing it up for the banter.

@JaxonH A lot of Youtubers seem to crap on the Violet Mizu GS.... but honestly I think it is actually the near best 'overall' sword by a long-shot.

The purple is insaaaane, and the raw damage is also pretty decent. Also the slots available, 2-2-2(!), give incredibly versatility to any build. The only negative is that you should really use the Quiros Crafting to augment the rampage slot to upgrade from lv1 - -> lv2 (so you can slot in anti-species decoration).

I've only moved on recently from Vizu GS - - -> Azure Scorned Magnamalo, but only because I'm playing more Surge Slash style and wanted to work on a Blast Build.

But for sure, Vizu GS is a great shout. Some of the new TU3 armors are sick also for GS, especially Risen Teostra Head + Chest.

What? For real? Violetsune GS is literally the best GS in the game. You don't even need Handicraft!

I just picked up the base game on Steam for half off! I have played about an hour of it so far and I'm very intrigued. The gameplay loop is very interesting to me even though I have just barely scratched the surface. I have no idea what I'm doing, but at this point so early in the game, it seems to be working. I watched Polygon's guide for beginners and I thought it was very helpful. I'm sure I'll get a better grasp of the mechanics over the next few hours, though. If any of you here have any guides that you recommend, I would appreciate it!

@JaxonH Yeh mate I can't recall what video/Youtuber it was... but they were literally laughing (!) at the Vizu GS because it was 'non-meta'! Crazy, because I think its legit the best overall GS in the game. If I wasn't running a blast build, I'd be all over it still
