It's the exact same game. If you want higher specs at the cost of the hybrid advantage, then yes. If you want the hybrid advantage at the cost of higher specs, then no.
Multiplayer is anemic on all non-Switch platforms though. 90% of the playerbase is on Switch, probably 5% on Steam, and the remaining 5% split among PS/Xbox.

I’ll probably not buy it, unless there is a good sale going on. I did some more research and the graphics don’t look that much better than the switch version.

I've always been of the opinion Rise + Sunbreak is the best Monster Hunter game to date. But these videos really put forward objective evidence as to part of the reason why.

Might not be the place but, I just wanted to vent real quick. My little sibling deleted my mh world save, and yes I reverted my ps5 back to a week, and it turns out, it’s been deleted for about that time and I just noticed, I’m vary, vary disappointed, as I had so, so much content on there, that I will never get back, I mean maybe the final boss of ice borne is on my ps4 safe, but everything I did on the other island? Grinding the layers armor, rajang, it’s all gone, I’m pretty bummed about it, as it’s five years worth of content, at least I can get somewhat of it back with the ps4 save, but I had everything, it was perfect, everything I wanted, the amor i finally wanted, so yeah, that’s what I’m posting here, I know it’s the way of the gamer to lose a save file, but, that file meant a lot to me, and it’s gone ):
Yeah due to how I sometimes hyper focus on something, I’m going to be bothered by this for like a week and a half, if even then I heal ):
Going through the base game again over on PS5. I used to be a hammer main but this time around I'm giving the hunting horn a go. Very cool. I'm breakdancing all day er day with the ZR -> A combo loop. Feels good.
Twenty-five hours deep, just captured low rank hub quest Magnamalo.
How much longer until World 2? That announcement is going to be hype.

130 hours deep, reached MR 3 over the past weekend. Looking forward to fighting a MR 4 Tigrex to gain access to a doot deco to boost the range on my hunting horn melodies. I've been happy with sonic barrier spamming in echo mode. Just trying to isolate a hunting horn with health recover large to aid my online peeps better.

This is why I keep coming back to the game and why monster hunter is such a great franchise!
The fact that the game is hitting these kind of number without updates just proves monster hunter should never go live service, as much as some people think it does. And yes I know it’s because of monster hunter wilds but come on this is still crazy.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

250 hours into this game makes me hope that wirebugs are not brought over into Wilds. The ability of endgame monsters to attack four, five, six times in a row with no respite is because the developers had to do something to counter wirebugs. I love the hunting horn, but against monsters with that number of attack there's just no escape.

@Snatcher
Its cause Asmondgold streamed it and he has massive viewership, and when that started increasing interest all the MH youtubers jumped on the train and started churning out videos to capitalize on it.
@Magician
I love wirebugs to death, but obviously they're not gonna be a permanent staple. Portable team always introduces one-game gimmicks. Wirebugs were NEVER going to be featured in any other MH ever again.
That said, Monster attacks are perfectly able to be avoided and countered with the tools you're given. And you can always lay on the ground same as any other MH game to leverage invincibility. Or wiredash back and to the side to get out of the way, rather than directly into another attack.
For about 98% of the monsters in the game, sure. But when you're laying on your back after eating a Primordial Malzeno's six-string wing attack with zero wirebug charges at your disposal, it's a difficult proposition. At that point it's neither a skill issue nor a knowledge issue, it's a design issue.
@Magician
I mean, if you have no wirebugs it's because you spent them in a risk reward decision. And you will be punished if you don't keep at least 1 at all times to escape when needed.
Skill may not be relevant in that situation, but it's relevant in what led to being in that situation. It's end game Malzeno, it's gonna punish, ya know? And you can use farcasters, which if you're not, then you're not utilizing all the tools available to survive.
I know it can be frustrating taking a good combo sometimes, but you'll overcome. I believe in you!

Only thing I had issues with Primordial Malzeno was that heavy hitting beam attack that can't be blocked, that one always gets me. Anyways I like the monsters being way more aggressive in this game, because most of the time in World/IB, the monsters were just...slow. lol
(aside from the moments where it throws the freaking Rajangs at you or something. >_>)

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I haven't touched this game in a while. Got to a fight with a crab in sunbreak, then sort of quit due to not enjoying the game that much. The monster variety in Rise just isn't.. great. I get why, given that they're having to remake monster assets from scratch for this gen, but Generations Ultimate has so much in terms of variety.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@VoidofLight
Variety in Sunbreak is spectacular. I encourage you to keep playing. Sunbreak is soooo much better than base Rise. Great Sword, the clunkiest of weapons, became one of the funnest, most rewarding I've used to date. Switch skills with counters is so good.
Of course MHGU had more. It was a celebratory title that combined a decade of monsters into one game.
But Sunbreak absolutely smokes base Rise, smokes World, smokes Iceborn, it's fire. The monsters are easily the best in the series to date. From the Daimyo Hermitar and Shogun Ceanataur (did we get crabs in World? Heck no!), to Espinas and it's subspecies, Garangolm, Lunagaron, Malzeno and Primordial Malzeno, Astalos, Seregios, Gore Magala, Shagaru Magala, Seething Bazelguese, Lucent Nargacuga (one of my FAVES), Violent Mizutsune (one of THE best Monster fights in the series to date, absolutely PHENOMENAL), Velkhana and Amatsu...
Not to mention the monsters from base Rise like Chameleos and Almudron, etc that also got subspecies or variants and were unique to so many other hunts.
Can't compare 5th gen to old dated MH. They don't have 15 years of basic skeletons and assets and preprogrammed AI they can just copy/paste into the game to stack the roster. Yet I'd still take Sunbreak over MHGU any day, as the fights in Sunbreak are so much more exhilarating.
