@Joeynator3000 Honestly minutes after I made my last post I was riding a Rathalos and it happened to me. Rammed a wall, recovered and got thrown off while going towards another wall. Very weird.
I was getting low during an early quest so got my BBQ out to cook some meat. The first piece just kept cooking until it burnt, so I tried again with another piece but couldn't work out how to stop the cooking, it just seemed to cancel it rather than let me have the cooked meat. What should I be pressing/doing?
Press A at the right time to finish cooking, watch the meat itself change. It seems to be a bit trickier here than past games, for me anyways. Dunno how it was in World since I rarely cook meat to begin with. xp

I just use the service at the canteen to turn all my raw meat into well done meat, then make sure I have a full stack of them in my item loadout at all times.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
Got a clip of the weird riding issue...watched it again, and yeah...no warning, no reason, I'm just thrown off before I can use my last wall ram...wtf? :/

I think the Wyvern Riding feels a little formulaic. In World you would see these fantastic chaotic Turf Wars which were a joy to watch and chaos to take part in, and although they do still fight in Rise, as soon as you come across 2 monsters you know that one of them is about to go down and become rideable. It just seems to always be the same scenario. Maybe it's less repetitive and formulaic in multiplayer but in single player I kind of groan to myself everytime 2 monsters are fighting because I know exactly how it's going to play out. Good for damage though I guess.
Arenas are pretty fun against multiple monsters. Love the design of the arena itself. So good!
@Crispe I actually just came across real turf war for the first time minutes ago. So they're still in the game. They may happen more often at higher level hunts, I dunno.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
@Ulysses Yeh that's true. They were formulaic in their own way I guess but I would usually fight along with the 2 of them and it would be a rush. There is none of that feeling here for me. Its fun at first to ride the monsters but after that it just feels like a tired routine.
Sounds like I am being too negative but I like playing Rise more than World due to lots of other great changes and the wirebug has just made regular melee combat so damn fun. There are just a few things in Rise that I don't think landed quite so well. For me at least.
@JaxonH
You think they will expand on it like they did with Iceborne? From the outside looking in it seemed pretty substantial, one of my friends said almost like a new game. As I mentioned I already dropped money on all the DLC so I'm in on this one. If there's a big expansion I'd be willing to pay for it.
@Gamer83
Absolutely. Every base MH game gets an Ultimate edition 12-18 months after release. From the 3rd generation MH games onwards they’ve been very consistent.
Monster Hunter Tri was followed by Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Monster Hunter 4 was followed by Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Monster Hunter Generations was followed by Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
And lastly, Monster Hunter World was followed up by Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
The only difference was, Iceborne was also sold as an expansion instead of only releasing as a separate game. But that’s because times have changed and the older games were on hardware that wasn’t really conducive to the DLC model, especially given their focus on penetrating the western market.
We can be sure Monster Hunter Rise will also get an expansion like all other games that basically doubles the content. Unfortunately, it probably won’t release until late 2022 according to the Capcom ransom hack leak.

Like I've said before they seem to be treating Rise the same way they treated World, free title updates involving monsters, bonuses, paid dlc stuff. So this will go on for about a year until the expansion hits. After that, more free title updates and all that for about another year. (after that the 6th generation game will hit, I guess it'll repeat itself there)
I think the only game that never got an Ultimate/Expansion was Portable 3rd...Capcom and Sony were having issues with each other back then I think. Probably one of the reasons why MH switched to Nintendo for a while after that.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I don't think Dos got an expansion either...?
...I dunno, 2nd generation was confusing to me, even more so since I started with 3rd gen. xD
anyways, these hub quest monsters are kicking my butt a bit. Still no faints or failed quests, but yeah...I kinda like it. Not too hard or too easy. xp

@Ulysses I just like to play through the game single player first as it feels more satisfying then I jump into multiplayer afterwards. I don't care about getting to the end quickly as my intention was to always continue playing after that point. It just feels like an incomplete game though beyond just being light on content. I would have expected the game's story to be complete at launch at a bare minimum.
Yeah, everyone likes to rush to the beginning (so they can post spoilers everywhere and ruin it for the rest of us of course), using multiplayer to get through everything and calling it too easy. Meanwhile I'm taking my time, even though I can skip the hub's low rank stuff...I'm still doing it anyways...alone. lol
Not even done with the village's low rank stuff yet, yeah I'm just taking my time with this. No idea when I'll try multiplayer, I usually prefer to go solo anyways.

I'm up to five star village quests atm. Been taking my time as well. Before starting anything on a new rank I've been making sure to clean up all quests from the previous rank first, so I've got ranks 1-4 all done as of now.
I can't force my friends to do the same so progress through the Hub was faster, but after we finished playing I didn't progress any further and I plan to mop up all the remaining quests there before moving on too.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
@Ulysses No, hunting horn. I meant that, in the rampage mode, the hunting horn on my back partially obscures my view of what I'm aiming at when using one of the weapons.
