Anyone heard if you can play this online? I don't have any friends in real life
At minimum, we know there's an online mode where you compete in five mini-games.
EDIT: The more I see about Super Mario Party, the more excited I find myself getting. Which surprises me since in the past the games never really made me go "I've got to get that game". Maybe it's due to me actually having the system it's on this time around? Anyway, while waiting for the launch, I'm considering getting Mario Party: Island Tour for the 3DS. Is that one worth getting?
I'd be disappointed if Nintendo doesn't utilize it's new online service in this game. I'm glad that they've eliminated that one mechanic everyone hated. They've been open ears lately.
@kkslider5552000 you know normally id agree but I don't think it's that obvious this time around. They seem to have made a lot of improvements this time around but I think the general public see it as just another Mario Party game. I think series fans, Switch owners and Nintendo deserve a big win with this.
@FaeKnight You will love it, MP is really fun with friends and family... I tend to prefer physical since I can re-sell it later if I decide I don't want it anymore. Also, if you have amazon prime you can get the game for like 15 or 20% off with free release day shipping
I avoid Amazon Prime. The delivery service they use locally transfers the package to the post office for final delivery... Who likes to (literally) drop packages to the ground then leave without even trying to knock in my area. And that's assuming they even bother to take the package off the freaking truck. I once was literally sitting outside of my apartment when the USPS delivery guy showed up in his truck, got out of the truck, walked up to the door, and put a "sorry we missed you" notice in my screen door before heading back to his truck to leave.
That's it, just putting a "sorry we missed you" card up without even trying to make the delivery. I loudly cleared my throat and called out "Where are you going, and why are you not trying to make a delivery?"
@FaeKnight wow that's worth a complaint I guess. Here in Holland delivery guys make more money if they deliver a package and even more when they deliver it to you in person and not to a neighbour.
@SeanDS89 just a heads up that prime preorder discount is ending on Tuesday so order everything you would want before then. It's getting replaced by $10 credit for pre-ordering "certain games". Sucks that is changing but I will still be keeping prime, I find it to be a great service overall.

Geez...
I never had issues with Amazon, I think I only had one real problem once. Basically something I ordered was lost...not sure what happened.

It's the fact they use FedEx mainly, and locally FedEx hands packages off to the post office for delivery.
Speaking of lost deliveries, I once had USPS (United States Postal Service for those who don't know) tell me they properly delivered a package... to the wrong state and 2 days before I even placed the order. And they refused to change their story even though I had printed out the shipping info from when I placed the order (including date of the order) and what the tracking information claimed. But because the computers said my package was properly delivered, that was it.
I ended up having to contact the seller and get them to reship the item, this time using UPS. It arrived two days early.
EDIT: Dag nabbit, when I Quote a message, place the freaking curser BENEATH all of the quoted text, not in the freaking middle of it!
There's no JoyCon bundle in NA, so I think I'm just going to the get the game digitally. The extra gold points when you prepurchase are really convincing.

This is apparently my next purchase. Or rather, one of my daughters bought it. It seems better than 10 at least. I like that each character has its own dice, makes it a bit more strategical.
@1UP_MARIO@Therad I'm not saying I don't understand it So far it really seemed to me that Nintendo was willing to make every game suitable for all control schemes. Anyway, since games like 1-2 Switch and Snipperclips already did this, my comment doesn't make much sense...
People freaking out about this not being played in handheld are just looking for something to complain about. Like said above, it's a party game that's almost entirely built around joycon motion controls. What did you expect?
When I read comments about people complaining about this, I imagine them playing the tricycle game in handheld, rotating their entire Switch to pedal.
