Okay. I hope you had fun while playing them.
Did you beat all 3 games? I feel like I remember you posting about your progress a few times, but I don't remember if you talked about beating them.

@Snatcher Yeah I got 120 stars. I'm playing other games right now so go ahead and get Enter the Gungeon.

@Ninjalaislit Yeah, who knows. I know that they once extended the deadline to get that jump rope game, so I'm hoping they at least do the same for 3D All-Stars and Fire Emblem.

I'll probably beat Galaxy tonight, since I'm about 100 stars in.

I still have Sunshine left, about halfway done. But I need a break from Mario. I love you, little plumber, but I've been jumping with you a lot this past month. A lot.

Yeah, I'm hoping/thinking they will extend the deadline of 3D All Stars and SMB 35, but I'm not sure about Fire Emblem.

That's right I believe I now remember you saying about playing 64 and Galaxy for the first time a while back.

Honestly, I was fine with what we got in the 3D All-Stars Collection. I wasn't expecting a lot of changes to begin with, except for some minor gameplay and camera tweaks to make some levels less frustrating.

I was expecting something more than just three rom dumps at full price lmao

All Stars on Wii at least came with some good physical goodies that increased the value of having the games on a disc as a novelty despite the games being practically untouched from their SNES counterparts.

This is definitely not worth $60 USD/$80 CAD

The 3 things missing that I feel prevents it from truly reaching "All Stars" status is:

• Galaxy 2 (the most important of the 3 points)
• The ability to use a GC controller as a GC controller in Sunshine
• Button mapping

The original All Stars for SNES contained all the NES 2D Mario games (SMB, SMB2 US, SMB2 Japan, SMB3) so for a 3D All Stars I would expect:

• 64
• Sunshine
• Galaxy
• Galaxy 2

Who knows maybe galaxy 2 will be an eshop release down the road. Or remastered.

So, what exactly were you expecting for the 3D All Stars Collection, then?

I'll go with Galaxy 2 AND a moderate graphics overhall for 64. Those 2 would push it into god-tier territory.

I believe button mapping will be available either in the upcoming update or in a future update.
The reason I say that is because in the pictures that the NoA twitter showed, there's an Options button, which wasn't there before. Also, on the Options button, there's a "Classic" and a "Modern" button. Why would they just use those buttons just for camera controls?
On the Controls tab, I think there's enough space to put a "Remap" or "Customize" button, or the "Classic" and "Modern" buttons will also be used on the Controls tab as "default" controller settings, like in Team Sonic Racing, and CTR.

Galaxy 2

Widescreen and scanlines for 64

Basically what everyone else said they wanted. Plus the omission of Galaxy 2 in general was incredibly baffling considering now 3D All Stars has one less game than the 2D All Stars collection

I shouldn't have to wait for post launch updates to get things in the game that are no brainers to implement from the get go.

Yeah, I've already beaten the games. This update is way too late. Besides, it not being on card only hurts the game in the long run. This won't ever be the definitive version of these games.

PLEASE nintendo give me galaxy 2 hell I will even buy it from you guys.

Okay, that makes sense and are reasonable.
I think the reason that Galaxy 2 isn't in the collection is because of the Yoshi pointer situation.
Also, I think the only reason that 2D All-Stars got four games was to bring The Lost Levels outside of Japan, otherwise I believe we would have probably just gotten 3 games in that collection as well.
My guess on the camera controls update is that they were thinking about implementing it, but then got slowed down by the pandemic, and had to cut it out to release it "on-time".

@Ninjalaislit People managed to get Galaxy 2 working on a dolphin emulator. If they can make it work (for free mind you), then surely Nintendo can.

@Octane Nintendo can get galaxy 2 to work and it would work docked easily. The problem is playing it handheld mode. You would be controlling Mario on yoshi with the left analogue stick and aiming yoshis tongue with your right finger on the touch screen. Really uncomfortable and doesn’t feel natural.

Galaxy one works great but playing that handheld only is not the best experience.

@Octane @1UP_ I have said this before but I think they should have time slow down when ever you tap or totch the screen with yoshi.
