I buying it because it’s more Mario on the switch.

@1UP_MARIO A good excuse for a Mario fan but what's your favourite?

@BlueOcean I’ve played 64 the most. I still play it at least once a year or more. I like all 3d Marios
I’ll put 64 and Galaxy 2 real high above the others although I enjoyed 3d lands final boss battle with bowser the most.

@1UP_MARIO Oh, I remember now. You wrote a nice piece about Super Mario 64 gameplay.

@BlueOcean It's probably one of the few games I can confidently say I can 100% with ease. I did a no guide run three years ago, and managed to find all the blue coins as well. Maybe I'll do something like that again.

@jump you know the mario. The corgi certified plumber

@1UP_MARIO oh, you mean Luigi’s brother. I’m surprised they are giving him his own spin off game when clearly the taller and more athletic one is the star ;p

@Octane I use guides sometimes but I don't like to, it breaks the magic and immersion.

I'll start with 64, and will be happy if I can just beat Bowser & see the credits. Maybe I just wasn't used to 3D games at the time, but I thought the game was really difficult as a kid (mostly goofed around the castle, and only really remember getting the first world's Stars, though I know I progressed far enough to reach the first Bowser fight, which is as far as I got).

I'm mainly getting it for Galaxy, which I loved but haven't played in over a decade, and Sunshine, which I haven't played before but am cautiously optimistic for as I find that HD 6th gen games tend to hold up just well enough for me to really get into them.

F.L.U.D.D Getting taken away from you is the equivalent of losing your phone irl. That’s what I view it as anyways.

@BlueOcean I loved F.L.U.D.D’s controls, just turning and running and jumping was a pain in the you-know-what. And like above, especially when he was taken away from you, you were just left with those wonky controls.

@RR529 I spent so much time around and inside the castle. That was the first time that I played a 3D game and it looked so good! I loved the water and swimming.

I rarely need walkthroughs for Mario games, usually because they’re almost always easy to figure out.

In the rare occasion I look something up, it’s because searching/trying to do that one thing becomes annoying and repetitive, and I’d rather be done with it then rage-quit.

@BlueOcean Finding all the blue coins on your own is pretty difficult though. Nearly impossible if it's your first try I'd say.

@Apportal I have always thought that the controls in Super Mario Sunshine are much smoother than in Super Mario 64. The challenges are tougher in Sunshine, though.

@Apportal @Eel I agree. I think that the first time I watched a Youtube guide was for getting the blue coins in Super Mario Sunshine. It's nearly impossible to find them all on your own because some of them are hidden and only appear in certain episodes.

I just checked, Youtube was founded in 2005 so it took me three years or more to find all the blue coins in Super Mario Sunshine (2002-2005) and thanks to that nice guy.

@BlueOcean that’s how I 100% sunshine. I finished the game but to get all the blue coins I had to youtube it (a big thank you to the good soul who uploaded it). It’s near impossible to remember which one you already got. Some if you miss them who have to start the level again and some are hidden in the water and they disappear in front of your eyes. 😉
Mario did control better in sunshine but he was slippery and controlled completely differently on the secret levels

I like the controls in Sunshine as well, FLUDD was fun to use. Especially the Rocket Nozzle, but I really dig the Turbo Nozzle too. Odyssey had the best 3D Mario controls IMO - Mario's moveset is incredibly versatile in that game.

@MarioLover92 I don't like motion controls in platformers 😆. All the nozzles are fun to use but Hover Nozzle is my favourite, especially high up.

@1UP_MARIO A track down system or check list would be god-sent.

I always enjoy just messing around with the rocket and turbo nozzles. Wish you could switch between all three types at any point.
