The art style is absolutely beautiful, and I'm glad they went with it. I wouldn't have minded another game in the LBW engine, but this is gorgeous as well.

Also desperately needed after Breath of the Wild left me very unsatisfied

I like how the game looks. It's fun to compare to the original and see how they've updated the characters and the environment. I was also reminded that Wart is in this game. I wonder what he looks like.

It hasn't been that long since I finished Link's Awakening on 3DS. I hope they've added some new content as well.

It's its, not it's.

Thats what I'm saying, that there may be more games than just this bundled together, there is no tagged title like HD or 3D.

Also, as much as I'd like to agree on a price point, I would pay for what they ask, because games are expensive.

@MrGam3andBu1ld No, publishers are greedy. Call of Duty made over half a billion US dollars in just three days. The average budget is around 50 million, to 100 million for really expensive games; marketing included. Yet it's still riddled with MTX. If this game is $40; let's say Nintendo gets $20 on average (if it's a digital copy this would be $40). 1 million copies sold equals $20 million in revenue. That would mean it has to be Nintendo's most expensive game if they can't make a profit of that. Of course, it's Zelda, so it will sell way more than just a million copies, and it's the Switch, so the game will sell even better. I'm confident a lot of companies can make a decent profit with <$60 titles and no MTX

Yeah, I’m excited for this. But I’m not biting on it for $60.

This announcement blew me away, im beyond excited. Although I cant wrap my head around people saying the art style is ugly. (it kinda reminds me of 3d dot game heros for some reason?) Its so dang cute, looks super clean too. And to top it all off its one of my favorite 2D Zelda games.

This was by far the highlight of the direct for me.

@Octane Fair enough

@Starburst The characters remind me of the little mini NPCs of disney infinity

My only question is if they continue with this art style, I don't how I'd feel about LttP getting this art style when ALBW is beautiful

The problem with this whole argument is that a lot of the companies that feel the current prices aren't high enough (so feel the need to include micro-transactions), are also the companies that produce yearly installments, or biannual installments of all their main franchises, which reduces the value of them over a much quicker timespan.
If you try and buy a Zelda game 6 months after it's released, it's probably still the same price it launched at. If you buy an Assassin's Creed game 6 months after release, it's probably half price already.
So they are partly responsible for their own problems, simply because they're so unoriginal developers.

@MrGam3andBu1ld If they did a LttP remake I would guess they would keep it the same as ALBW just to stay consistent. I would hope so at least.

Art style reminds me of Pixel Junk Monsters 2, which I like, so no beef from me.

I'm not overly familiar with the artwork from the original, so when I saw the egg on top of the mountain I thought, 'Oh. Cool. A Zelda x Yoshi cross. Should be interesting'.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

I'm not sure if this game means that they're going to do all the old 2D games in this style. Could be a one time thing. I'm positive the next one will be a new entry in the franchise.

This looks good though, so I'm not complaining.

Is it me or is the most similar art style to this from a pervious Zelda game is Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland?

This comparison video from Gamexplain made me notice that one of the best improvements is not having those annoying fixed screens you have to transition between. Lol that and being able to select multiple weapons. Modern technology is nice. I also love that town theme:

we don't talk about that game... shivers

if they bundled the game with seasons ages, that could make sense. They're all gameboy titles and take place before link's awakening.

still holding out on LttP and NES Zelda getting in on the remake bundle too

I wouldn't mind if we could play that NES Breath of the Wild simulator used by the devs

LttP would really need a different art style than this if they remade it. It's a much darker game.

General Zelda thing:
I'm a youngin, never got a gamecube or gameboy advanced,

When will they make Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures Accessible for modern consoles?
You can play nearly all titles on 3DS, Wii U, and Switch except those 2

and I'm aware of the four swords limited offer, never got the chance

@MrGam3andBu1ld

GBA stuff is easy to get running on a modded 3DS. The 3DS basically could run GBA games natively but for whatever reason they just never bothered to sell them on the eshop.
I think I'm allowed to point that out now that they've clearly abandoned the console.

Eel

You can point it out, just don't go in detail about how to do it, since they cleary haven't abandoned the console.

Bloop.

@Dezzy
yes but we've only got Zelda 1, 2 and BOTW on Switch + hyrule warriors

while the Wii U is dead, we still have most of the games on the console, good or bad.
