The CEO of Nintendo has said they're keeping the 3DS going and alive. I have a feeling in my stomach that they've got something we aren't seeing for it.

I wonder if a new switch will come with the ability to play 3ds games

Ner, look at the sales of the last few games. Even Metroid sold really badly, despite being an incredible game.
The console's done. Kirby Epic Yarn will be the last main game (unless I've missed something else already announced?)
They always say the "keeping it alive" thing just to keep as many people as possible buying it for as long as possible. They said the same with the wiiU whilst they were abandoning it.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

@Dezzy other than Kirby Epic Yarn there also Persona Q2. but that's all i can think of.
it does seem like this is close to end of 3DS. unless they have something else to show. i think it's a safe bet that this is it.

I think the announcement that 3DS is still being supported is just a stopgap comment until the end of the current fiscal year (saying support is ending already would harm fiscal year sales). My guess would be some kind of Switch Mini announced in April and launches in June or July (matching up with either Super Mario Maker 2 or Fire Emblem Three Houses release date).

You know what rubs me the wrong way? Please don't think I'm on my high horse or anything bc i barely get upset about this kind of stuff. But i watch alot of youtubers, some of which is self proclaimed zelda focused channels a couple of them are are talking about the links awakening remake and and how excited they are to play. Trust me I am too. Maybe even more so than the next person. But, then they go onto say its because they never played the original. Again normally that's fine but there's 2 flaws I see there. 1) how are you a self proclaimed zelda channel having never played all zelda games? I can understand not playing the cdi games or triforce hero's but I dk.. 2)I guess it bugs me that they were putting out top 10 dungeons in zelda just a few days ago even though they haven't experienced all of them. Sorry for the rant, I rarely call people out for the way they game or what they like but I was kinda confused

don't be that gatekeeper.
the only requirement to being a Zelda fan is liking Zelda.

Again normally I don't say anything. Just find it odd. Just my opinion that I found it funny that they were making videos of top 10 zelda dungeons without playing all of them. Sorry for the comment folks 😔

Going by what some supposed Zelda fans post, even that seems optional.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Any one that is disappointed they made the new version cute...hasn't played the original Gameboy game.

or didn't enjoy it for what it was, and instead romanticized an ideal of what they wanted the game to be

@Octane Embeded images on NL work really weirdly. Your second time worked, but when I first saw your first thing on my phone it didn't. I don't understand why it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

I get the same problem too when I post my own images honestly.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

@EvilLucario I think it's only an issue on phones. It works fine on PC, but I can't see it on my phone either.

I honestly don't think this style of gameplay would work super well with an edgy realistic style anyway, the chibi short characters complement the tile based environment much better, and look more natural in it.

Changing the art direction to something more "realistic" would require a major reimagining of the game and its mechanics... Or you could have a Bomberman act zero situation in your hands.

@Charlie_Girl Indeed. The only think dark about the original was the Gameboy not having a backlight lmao.

I love the links eyes are black like they were in the original. Next zelda theory "link has no soul" 😁

@nintendobynature
I feel you and that does seem a little hypocritical. I would look to matt taranto, he has played and ranked almost all the games. People will have opinions.

That's why I'm frustrated about the 4 swords games because I want to play them all
