Topic: Kirby ‘s Return to Dreamland Deluxe

@Joeynator3000 Same TBH; I never tried the multiplayer at all. I just learned about it through some online reading and in-game tutorials.

This was on my Wii list, and I'm really glad that it's coming to Switch instead. It's a pretty steep price for a Wii copy, all things considered.

It looks good. As long as it has online co-op, and multiplayer.

I'll definitely be picking this up. As others have said, I'm not too keen on the outlines. Hope this has online multiplayer. That was a big boon in the 3D World Switch port.

Finally a good 2D Kirby on Switch.

I never used to like Kirby games, until I played Planet Robobot. That's the one that made me a fan. Triple Deluxe just didn't do it for me. Nothing wrong with it, but for whatever reason it never grabbed me.

This one I loved though. Played it afterward (never finished though). It's a classic. As much as I love Robobot, this is the quintessential 2D Kirby game- the one that laid the foundational bedrock all future Kirby games should build on.

I will be picking this up at some point. I remember this is one of the Wii games I wanted to play but I never got around to it because of other games. Will make sure I get around to it this time around.

I’m kinda interested in buying this game, but I’m unsure if I want to pay full price because Kirby games often seem rather short. Luckily they drop in price pretty quick in the U.K.

So far, it’s looking like this game will live up to its “Deluxe” title.

@ChaoticKirby Honestly, if there's any Nintendo team I trust to do solid "Deluxe" games, it's the Kirby team. They always go all out, and it's very much appreciated.

@ElRoberico I'm curious to know what's in this game, I don't think that Magalor Epilogue is new...I don't know, because the game already had an extra mode after the main game. Don't think it had a proper name, though...maybe it's just that?

All I know is that since you fight the Soul in the extra mode, the True arena ends up feeling...underwhelming I guess? xD

Maybe we'll get a new final boss, I like what the 3DS games did where the final boss fight got an entirely new phase/form. They even brought that back for Forgotten Land, and it was epic. (and kinda creepy with the "And here we are!" theme, lol)

Anyways yeah, hopefully something like that happens, one of my favorite things about the Kirb games is the True Arena having an epic final battle. xp (I love bosses in general, lol)

@Joeynator3000 I agree about the Kirby boss fights. They always seem more interesting and fun than any of the other Nintendo 2D platformers.

@ElRoberico Yeah, and ever since Superstar Ultra, the True Arenas have always been interesting with a harder version of the original final boss. It felt weird that Return to Dreamland didn't do something like this and you fought the Soul elsewhere. Also Star Allies was...weird, I guess, I dunno. Still a fun fight, but I felt like Void should've gotten another phase or something. lol

@ElRoberico @Joeynator3000 What I really like about the secret bosses and phases is that they actually are canon in the lore. It isn’t just some “what if” or just dismissed as non-canon (with the exception of Galactica Knight), but instead work with the story, even all the nightmare fuel.

It’s just funny to think that things like 02 actually exist in the world of Kirby.

Welp, Magalor's Epilogue is actually new, I figured it was just the Extra Mode the original game had since it never had a name other than Extra. lol

I wonder if that means we're getting a revamped True Arena/secret final boss now. >.>

I just played the demo. I like the new outlines on the characters, makes it feel new. I didn’t like Dedede’s design at first, but it grew on me. I really like the two Magoland minigames we got to play, especially the Battle Royale one. As for the main game, it was still as good as I remember. Just some good Kirby fun!

Oh, I think that was in the original, probably in a couple of other older games as well.

Then again Magalor's Epilogue IS an entirely new mode, soooo, who knows.

@Joeynator3000 I just watched the beginning cutscene of the original RtDL, and it actually was there. Huh, funny how I missed that. I do remember people saying that it’s been in the lore almost since the beginning.

I have a feeling that it’ll show up in the Magolor Epilogue, probably as a final boss or something.

Even the wiki thinks this game might have a harder True Arena with an EX version. This is gonna drive me crazy, I want this game already. I'm hoping the true final boss will get an entirely new phase or something this time, I love it when the games do that. xp

(if it ends up being like Void from Star Allies, then oh wellz)
