@FrankGarrett If you are worried about a new upgraded SKU, note that Nintendo would shoot themselves in the foot if they went nuts and require a new Switch to play the latest games. While they did some New Nintendo 3DS exclusives, the market as a whole embraced to develop for the old 3DS. With that install base Nintnedo is currently having and the Switch being relatively young, I would not see a drawback, if there a games you want to play now.

There is sufficient reason to believe that a revised model is coming in 2019. This is based on an article in the Wall Street Journal that referenced industry insiders who would have access to this type of information.

Having said that, you’re looking at AT LEAST 6-8 months, and possibly longer. Why would you voluntarily deprive yourself of the greatness that is the Switch for such a long period of time? The current iteration is excellent. I wouldn’t want to go a week without mine.

Go get your Switch.

On somewhat of a same topic. Considering buying a refurb Wii u for VC mostly. And maybe some physical copies ( wind waker, super mario 3d world etc ). Found it pretty cheap on game stop. 3 games and the console plus gamepad for $160. Worth it or should I wait to see what happens with nintendo switch online this year? I'm sure they'll say more during a January direct. Side note, I have a 2ds (original, not xl) and a switch. I just really want to play more than just nes and gameboy games.

That price is good. Wii U is a great console for retro gaming and has some games that haven't been ported to Switch and some that are better with the GamePad. Wii U and Xbox One are the two consoles I use the most. About Switch we don't know if it will get more than NES games next year but you'd need a subscription for playing them anyway.

@nintendobynature That's a hard one, at the speed NSO is moving, we wont get SNES titles until late next year at the soonest. And things like Wind Waker and Super Mario World are perfect for switch remasters that could definitely be announced at the direct. I would probably wait as the price will probably go lower before it gets higher and nintendo will hopefully touch on some of this in the direct. I personally have been holding off on buying tp and ww on my wii u waiting for a switch remaster.

Well excuuuse me princess

thats life everything especially electronics update, you can always wait for the revision or buy now but worrying about it will never allow you to purchase it and enjoy it

@BlueOcean @MasterJay thanks my friends. Can You play twilight princess without the wii mote nunchuck and just on the gamepad? I think you have to use Wii mote plus with skyward sword though. I really wana play ww, spirit tracks, minish cap tp and ss.. If I don't hear from Nintendo at the beginning of the year that those are coming to switch ill probabaly just opt to buy a Wii u. Lastly can you use a Wii mote and nun Chuck with a Wii u and just buy a motion plus adapter ?

@nintendobynature Hey. You can play Twilight Princess HD and The Wind Waker HD with the Wii U pro controller or the GamePad and you can also play them off-TV on the GamePad if you want.

To play Swyward Sword (a Wii game) you need the Wii Remote and Motion Plus accessory OR a Wii Remote Plus. The nunchuk is required as well.

Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game for me and the HD version is so beautiful, especially on the TV. If you get it you're going to love it. The Wind Waker HD is more similar to the original game but in HD, wide-screen, with better lighting and a few gameplay improvements as well. Skyward Sword is a very divisive game. It has some cool gameplay moments but it's also kind of repetitive. But hey, it has fans too.

@BlueOcean honestly I'm almost ready to hit purchase in my game stop shopping cart. I'm desperately trying to hold off to see what's in store with the January direct but it's pretty tempting. Not mention, I got ahead of myself and redeemed a ton of platinum points for wind waker skyward sword and spirit tracks haha. They're good til March so if i end up buying a Wii u I already have Discounts coming to the games I really wanted. Thanks for all the info btw. I never beat twilight princess or ww since a tv is hard to come by in my house these days. The gamepad might be my only solution. If we dont have a direct by 3rd week or January, consider me a proud Wii u owner

@nintendobynature Awesome! You are very welcome. I think it's obvious but I am a huge fan of Zelda, too.

@FrankGarrett Nintendo's content with the current version of the Switch right now, so I'd say get one if you have the money for it.
