Yeah I am new here and I’m very sorry you have taken exception to my use of the word dude. This ain’t prison “bro” and I suggest you stamp out your questionable authority on someone else. @ThanosReXXX
Because you don’t say bros. It has a full stop after it, it is an abbreviation of brothers! It’s not meant to be pronounced as a word! Like etc. or ltd. I’m outta here.. @Octane
Buuuuut....
Slang usage == 'bro' that rhymes with 'no' (can be singular or plural)
Formal usage == 'bros' that sounds like 'brothers' (always plural)
Formal usage contracted == 'bros' that rhymes with 'boss' (always plural)
Ms. = Mizz
Mrs. = Misses

@GrailUK Turning a singular noun into a plural doesn't come with a change of the vowel. There are a few exceptions (foot/feet, man/men, etc.), but those don't come with an additional '-s' at the end. It's one or the other
@Jjj0hnn Yeah... I already kinda figured you'd take it the wrong way. I explicitly said "no offense" in my first reaction to you, which was sincere and which should have told you enough about my tone and intent, and the same goes for the following, so don't get too upset about it, because it's meant as constructive criticism. But feel free to do with it what you like...
And I haven't specifically taken exception to the word dude, but it's just that I don't like people, especially new people, talking to other people like they know them or have gone to school with them. That's just not how this community works. In general, we're a bit more respectful to each other than that, which as you might find out if you stick around long enough, is actually one of the nice things of this website's community, since there are already more than enough crappy gaming communities to go around...
So, I'd suggest that while you're still new here, you might want to try to get to know us a bit better and while doing that try and communicate in a normal and more toned-down manner, instead of coming off like you've already been around for as long as most of us here have been, because that isn't really an upward (or long lasting) spiral...
@GrailUK Yeah, you kinda have a point there. But on the other hand: us yanks have used the word bros (pronounced as toes) for decades, both in media and in real life, and it's not just slang for the mentally challenged..
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@GrailUK Hearing it like Bross sounds so weird to me. I've always said it like "toes" since that sounds right considering how "bro" is often pronounced.
This is like the time I found out how the plural of staff (as in a magical stick, not group of people), staves, is pronounced.
I thought for sure it just sounded like "halves". I'm still in denial.
This thread escalated so fast. I feel like it'd be a great party game; Have cards with words on them and everyone playing has to constructively defend why they think it sounds that way. The person drawing the card judges two sides, etc. So I guess like a Language Against Humanity thing?

OK, is this a British v American thing? In my head, it's always been Bros to rhyme with boss, like the naff Eighties pop band (and yes, it was spelt with one "s", not two).
Calling someone a "bro" is more typically American slang and doesn't get used nearly as much this side of the pond. I'd almost want to pluralise that as "broes" - although I am sure that would be technically incorrect.
Ultimately, language is fluid and regional, and nobody is wrong - apart from @ThanosReXXX! (Go check iTunes or Spotify for the spelling of the band behind I Owe You Nothing - and then try to claim Bros can't rhyme with boss!.)
