USB-A is the rectangular wide-blade connector. USB-micro-B is that small fragile looking D-Shaped connector. USB-C is a new one, it's an oval and there's no "right way" to insert it you can do it right side up or upside down.
USB-C is what you think of when you normally think if "USB" on a PC. Micro-B is what you think of when you normally think of charging phones, tablets, or controllers, headphones, etc. USB-C is pretty new, the newest phones, laptops, and Switch have it. What you want is a USB-A to USB-C cable (such as comes with the Pro controller) if you have a normal, older laptop. I've had good luck with Anker's PowerLine+ cables. They're pricier than most but they're rugged if you're using it plugged in a lot.
you'll want a 2nd AC Adapter for sure. That's the best option cause the Pro cord plugged into a computer or typical USB Plug won't suffice.
Or get the Car Adapter if you have a car.
You want a portable battery- one with USB-C, and not just any USB-C, but USB-C with Power Delivery (USB-C PD).
There's only 3 on the market that are feasible ATM, and one of those (the RAVpower) has issues with Switch needing to plug in while in sleep mode for Power Delivery charge. So, 2 options.
The Aukey is cheaper, but doesn't come with a USB-C Power Delivery wall charger like the Anker does, and it's fatter so harder to fit in a case. I have the Anker- works beautifully... can charge 0-100% while playing Zelda or Mario Kart or Splatoon 2 at 100% brightness and wifi on, in less than 4 hrs. Even faster if system is in sleep mode or off. It's faster than Nintendo's own official charger.
But they Aukey comes highly recommended as well. Both are solid choices. Whatever you do though, buy a separate USB-C to USB-C cable that's in spec. Amazon Basics, Apple and Google are all guaranteed in spec.
