Anyone else feel the insanity of Sega’s exclusion of Sega Genesis Classics Collection for Switch? Switch is big leagues now, what gives? Lol

Yeah, bizarre decision on SEGA's part. Part of me is surprised, but then again, it's SEGA.

The only thing I can think of is laziness on Sega's part. If Sega were a smaller company, I'd say maybe limited resources prevents them from having enough people but they are a huge company even today. Even if they were working on it from before the Switch was launched (which, wow, I seriously doubt that) it would be a foolish choice. The Switch is still flying off shelves.

Umm, Sega does what Nintendon't? I honestly have no clue why this is being excluded from the Switch.

Maybe Sega knows something we don't?
If the VC comes out shortly, why bother?

@HappyAxiom I hope so. I really want Genesis virtual console! A collection would be another option anyway. On PS3 you can buy single Genesis games as digital download and is also available a collection too. I prefer Virtual console anyway so I would be fine just with it

I heard they will release each game separately at retail. Something about those Nintendo suckers buying "any old thing in a plastic box". Not sure what this refers to really.

Yeah, my immediate thought is that Virtual Console (or whatever Nintendo is doing equivalent to it) is gonna have Sega Genesis games. Sega put out their PS4 current gen Sonic game on Switch, they're not gonna ignore putting their old games out on Nintendo if they're putting them on the other consoles.

Overall, it is going to cost way more than the collection to get all those games.

On the other hand, you can get the games you want, which might only be one or two. In which case you profit. I would still rather have the collection.

I really think that not releasing the collection on Switch is itentional in order to sell the games seperately for 8 or something euros each wher VC launches which is a shame really. Since I really love SEGA this would be the only game I would buy on Switch even though I will get it for PS4, I really love SEGA.

I'd rather have their arcade games on the Switch.

The only reason I find this odd is SEGA cant pull the "we started development long ago" angle because Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces were day and date.

Wow. This collection sure makes me feel nostalgic for a time when Sega made business decisions that weren’t catastrophically stupid.

Personally I probably wouldn’t pick it up (let’s have the arcade originals please Sega rather than home ports that were good for their time but never 100% accurate and some of those games are very light on content if you play them with save states and rewind) but still it’s a crazy decision not to have this on Switch.
