Ya... Breath of the Wild is like, one of the best video games I’ve ever played. It had a few minor flaws but not enough to keep it from being a 10/10 masterpiece.

This game looks good, and I’m buying digitally and physically, but it won’t even be playing in the same league as Zelda. Not even close. Music won’t be as good, character designs won’t be as good, puzzle design won’t be as good, game design won’t be as good and movement/mechanics won’t feel as fluid. Of course, anytime a game takes inspiration from Zelda, you’ve got people rallying behind it to claim how much better it is. Saw it with Genshin Impact. Seeing it again now with Immortals Fenyx Rising.

All that being said, this game does look pretty fun. And it looks respectable enough on Switch.

A lot of people like role playing by making their own character, though I do tend to prefer pre-made characters myself. Except for Monster Hunter. That game would never feel right with a premade character. Which, you’re underneath armor all the time anyways. But ya, most character creation games have presets, and the first preset in the list is typically the premade character. They just give you a bunch of other options as well.

Gold edition of this may be my last game of the year. I should wait since ubisoft games crater in price, but I love greek mythology/religion so I want to play this day one.

@Ryu_Niiyama i want to badly too. But having to postpone AoC ill probably be postponing this. Plus at least with ubisoft itll probably be on sale in January so at least holding out for me won't be the worst thing.

That’s fair. I should hold off honestly. I’ve already bought about 31 games for black friday as is so it isn't like I won’t have anything to play.

@Ryu_Niiyama I've thinking the same thing. I really want to play this, but I know the price is going to drop sooner rather than later, like every Ubisoft title seems to. I think I'll just try and hold off until then; like @NintendoByNature, I also expect that happen shortly after Xmas.

@Shadowthrone same thing happened last year with rebel collection. Think it launched the first week of December and January it dropped to 25 on amazon

I got 20% off Gold Edition in Uplay, with my points..... I'll be playing it as soon as it's out, so I'll post about it then

The Switch version looks very promising, only thing that seems to have truly suffered are the faces. I hope it will be stable though, so no low framerate, slowdown and crashes. I am also wondering about the season-pass. It sounds good and meaty, but I don't know if it's worth 40 Dollar/Euro. I mean that's almost the base game: I paid 52 Euro! I also wonder if there are only shrines or also a few dungeons. I hope there are a few dungeons. As for the daily and monthly challenges: With the daily challenges I might soon drop out, there are more games to play. But maybe I'll return every month for the mothly challenges? I also wonder how big the game will be: Will it be as big as botw with just as much shrines? I am very curious!

I miss the old subject title's use of caps, it was far more radicalz!

Reviews are coming in and they seem to be in the high 70s/low 80s which doesn't surprise me. The summaries of them are saying it's fine but doesn't add much to genre and the reward chests are a bit pish. Most of the reviews I've read aren't including the day one patch.

It was never a day one buy for me but I look forward to grabbing it in the sales.

I'll have to pass on day 1 unfortunately but I'll still be grabbing it soon.

This is like... kinda far down on my list, but a possibility if nothing else comes out early next year. People always wail about games copying mechanics and stuff, but dang - after I watched that video, this really does copy BotW lol

Has anyone seen from the videos if any of the customizable costumes has something that looks like Xena-ish? I really want to turn this into a Xena: Breath Of The Wild?

The Washington Post review sold me on this game but I’m still not paying full price and the review was on the PC version and I’d want it on Switch. If anyone on here gets it on Switch or even on PC, I’d LOVE to hear your impressions.

To be honest, I don’t even care how much it copies Breath of the Wild. I have been DYING for a decent brand new open world game to play on Switch and this may be what I’m after!

Just booted up the game. Theres a costume available in UPlay via game menu for 100 Uplay coins, if anyone has spare coins to spend.

Gotta say, the game feels super high quality. Sound is fantastic too. So far so good.

Is that game rare now? I have HeartGold and SoulSilver, but I bought years ago.

Might want to hold off though (unless you’re a collector). Rumor has it a Pokémon Collection will be releasing in 2021 with 4 Pokémon games for Switch, and I believe that was one of them (have to research it though, I can’t be 100% sure).

@JaxonH I didn’t hear that rumor until you mentioned it (Thank you!) and it is interesting. I don’t think the whole “bundle of games” thing is real (the original 4chan post the rumor started from tries to hard to be convincing imo) but they would make a lot of money if they ported past Pokémon games to the switch and everyone knows how much the Pokémon company/Nintendo loves money...Hmm. The problem is we had similar rumors in the past with a Let’s Go Jotho and Alola ports but nothing came out of those, so I’m just worried I won’t buy the game to wait for Switch ports that may never even come...Sigh. I really don’t know what to do now. Thanks for letting me in on that rumor though.

Edit: did some more research and both Pokémon Master/Super Collection rumors seem completely fake. I’m personally expecting RSE rereleases on the eShop and Gen 4 remakes, and that remains unchanged. The only rumor that does seem somewhat credible is a tweet from someone who said “If you thought the backlash to 3D All Stars was bad, wait till you see what they’re doing with Pokémon.” I think I’m just going to bite the bullet and buy HeartGold.
