I'm not interested in the game because from the looks of it....its just not anywhere as great as the recent Fire Emblem games. Don't get me wrong, I praise what he's doing for the game....its just that, it needs to do a lot to make it get into me.
I am interested in his game engine though as he claims that other devs can use it.
@Socar oh, right I remember hearing about that.
I've been kind of interested in trying out the saga games sometime and I'll definitely have to give his new game a look as well.
@Kazuo: Well....so far, here is the footage of the game.
....idk, to me, its just not making me want to get my hands on it. I know that the game is free but again, someone has to translate the game which is going to take some time.
Does anyone have a particular favourite class from Fire Emblem?
I generally like sword masters and my favourite class is Blade Lord from FE 7.
Another one I like has only appeared in 2 games (aside from remakes) which is the Ballistae class. In both Shadow Dragon and Fates I've made a Wooden Calvary team (almost done my Fates team now).
@Socar ah, I see. Just quickly skimmed through it, but it looks a lot more like Fire Emblem than what I've seen of Berwick Saga.
Will it just be available on PC?
The only reason why I prefer a Dark Knight over a Sorcerer is because its got lifetaker skill and they have balanced stats compared to Sorcerers. Of course, my Tharja is an exception though!
I never seem to get the benefit of archers compared to the mage class honestly. The only good thing about them is that they can kill fliers easily. They are not like magicians who can attack even at range 1.
I now love Malig Knights as well! They can attack at range and have huge movements. Not to mention that their skills are very useful.
My least favorite are Mercenaries because their skills and stats are not that useful compared to Swordmasters.
Going back to your previous question....yeah. I think this is going to end up being a PC exclusive.if it ends up booming by word of mouth like Cave Story, I don't see how remakes and ports can't happen.
Personally I like snipers since they tend to have fairly good attack and critical and are kind of like a ranged sword master. I believe they also have good speed and defence.
All classes tend to have things they specialize in and each comes with their own strengths and weaknesses. Magic users can attack both near and far, but also generally have low defence and may not do well up close.
Sword masters have high critical and speed, but they tend to lack much defence, heroes have all around good stats including defence, but they won't have as much skill or speed as a sword master.
@DarthNocturnal well I think it was generally better at least.
Aren't Druids usually slow?
Looking at Serenesforest their magic could go to 29 and their skill and speed went up to 26 while defence would go to 21/20 and 28/29 resistance.
Sword masters could go up to 24/22 strength, 29 skill and 30 speed with 22 defence and 23/25 resistance.
Also I guess I was kind of mistaken about heroes. They aren't as fast, but can get slightly more skill. (Sword masters sometimes got a critical boost in some games though)
Also snipers max stats are 25/24 strength, 30 skill, 28/29 speed, 25/24 defence and 23/24 resistance.
This is from FE 7 by the way.
@DarthNocturnal ah, I see. I don't think I used Canas in my last play through. Ewan was a really good druid in Sacred Stones though.
Haha, probably one of the most important stats too eh?
Was it close to being maxed out at least? (Nothing an energy ring could fix Maybe)
Speaking of which, I did the opposite for both fates. I carefully thought out who to grind in conquest but i didn't care the slightest in Birthright.
Honestly, Birthright is a joke and probably the easiest FE game out there. The only hard ones in Birthright are the sidequests but I purposefully made them hard because well, I kinda wanted that Conquest feel in that.
