@FishyS I'd say it's like neither, it's a 'collection' game, main objective is to explore maps during day/night cycles, complete quests, find activities to do and get completion for things like codex, equipment, etc.
It's also got a big focus on cinematics to show marine life during the cooler phases as well as some 'spooky' abyss exploration.
Overall, this is a game people play to relax and wind down, don't expect a challenge or too much 'crazy', but go in with an open mind (and love for the ocean) and you'll love it.
@Varkster i would say it is more discovery thann collection for the story part... afterwards it is a bit more collection... but it stands way above abzu @fishyS in that it really is like a celbration of the sea, with the cinematics, the great music.. it's like starring in a jacques cousteau movie i guess... am playing the second game now, never saw that in the day but now hacked my wiiu and it is glorious
do wonder how they are going to do the controls though.. really liked the wii ones, felt like swimming at times.. (and meant i had to stop after a few hours since my arm hurted)
When this game was announced during the Nintendo Direct, it made me really happy. I have not played the Wii game, but I saw a video and liked it. Since I love the ocean and peaceful and relaxing games, I am very interested in Endless Ocean Luminous.
"This unexplored region changes with each dive", could this mean the environments are procedurally generated?
Edit: Okay, I just read up on the topic and it seems to be procedurally generated. Hopefully the next weeks, will show a little bit more of the game.
