@Ninja84 You play a mercenary who's paid to enter a hostile location to retrieve documentation on the virus that's running wild in the area you've entered. You see how dire things are for the survivors. As a result you have a change of heart and choose to secure a cure rather than complete your mission. Overall the story is fine.
Basically, Dying Light is the spiritual sequel to Dead Island. Same development team, but Techland doesn't own the rights to the Dead Island brand, Deep Silver does. There are some interesting characters you'll meet as you do side quests and the main story quests, but the combat and mobility systems in Dying Light are the bigger attraction. That, and how the game's atmosphere drastically changes during the night.

Allow me to queue up the old CG trailer from way back.
It gives a good impression of the world you're in and the movement system.

No trailers. No screenshots. Not even a teaser thumbnail.
Contrast this with the announcement for The Witcher 3 on the Switch where the announcement was accompanied with a 40-second trailer showing in-game footage actually running on the Switch.
How much confidence does Techland really have in their Dying Light port?
@Moutain_Man Normally I'd assume Techland have been too busy with DL2 development to have handled the DL1 Switch port themselves, that they outsourced the effort. But I'm unable to find info on who might have handled the Switch port outside of Techland themselves. Perhaps, unlike Call of Juarez, they gave Dying Light more love and respect?
We'll find out in October.

According to the Murican eShop listing, the file size is 14.5GB.
This is good; as long as Techland don't cheapen out, everything should be on a 16GB cartridge.

@Magician figured you'd be the one to ask. So DL1 is just a regular port of the Game, physical and digital. And DL2 is only cloud based at this time right?
Correct. DL1 plays natively on the Switch hardware, digital and physical copies. While DL2 will be cloud only.

Found the trailer on YouTube. It looks surprisingly good! I just assumed the game was going to look and play like trash on the Switch akin to The Outer Worlds, but it looks like TechLand may have pulled off a miracle.
This is one of those games I often look at while in Game or CEX. I usually think I'll get that next time, been putting off for a while now. Looks like I'll finally take the plunge on this version.
Am I right in thinking there is a Mario reference hidden in one of the chimneys on the roof top? I'm sure I saw that somewhere.
just to let you know :
this probably wont touch a lot of you guys if you will buy the physical version , but if you wanted the digital version you can forget it:
the game will not be release it on the e-shop in all Europe, because the HQ of Nintendo Europe is in Germany and the game there is banned from be sell to the public(middle-age regulation) I don't get it why this should prevent to release on other European countries but it looks it does and Nintendo cannot do it, (strangely the second game because is cloud based they can sell it on Europe) source moderator on reddits and confirmed from the fact there is not a page on the e-shop and in the official site of pre-order is said there is no digital version available in Europe)
Just create a Murican Nintendo profile, purchase Murican eShop credit, and you should be able to purchase a digital copy from anywhere in the world.

@Magician
What about my account do I have to create a new one? And after download the game can i turn back to my region and still be able to play it?(what about future patches as well) sorry for all the questions but this is all new for me
@Ninja84
yes that's already 100 confirmed the physical in Europe, here in uk i can already preorder it trought amazon uk,
i contacted Nintendo uk about the digital version they apologize to not be able to preorder the game but they added will be release it on 19/10, so maybe the page in eshop will be put online only in that date that's very strange, and badway the same situation is happening for crysis 2 and 3 no eshop page at all
