Topic: Digital number count !

Hi !

I would like to know how many digital switch games you own. I am not interessed by physical game you own, only digital.

Lastly, are you afraid of your digital collection since nintendo closed the wii shop?

For me I own approx 100 digital games...

@bessetmath I've got about 50 or so digital games on my Switch mostly imports and digital only titles because I prefer physical releases.

I am not worried about it because I keep all my games downloaded. The shop being closed issue is only an issue if you archive titles or delete them. Any games you downloaded from the Wii Shop you can still play just don't delete them.

I imagine the Switch eshop will remain online much longer than the Wii's because the Switch has the paid online service, whereas the Wii was free. But ultimately the problem with digital storefronts like the eshop is that there is no establish standard for how long they stay open and how you deal with it when they close.

Nintendo did give us months of advance notice before closing the Wii's store. So people did have time to get bigger SD card and redownload anything they wanted.

I have around 140 - quite surprised by this, I need to be more selective in purchasing my games.

Not too concerned about the impact of eshop closure on my current collection, for the same reasons as @Heavyarms55. However it will be a shame when I'll no longer be able to buy games I hadn't yet purchased.

This is like the Chicken and Egg. Some games aren't Physical and Digital is the only options. I think only popular games or most used games are being remastered for Switch eventually. But the biggest cost is MicroSD space you will loose that more and more as Digital games get bigger and bigger. I try for Physical for that reason and only for Updates or DLC to microSD card. And the 1tb isn't cheap anytime soon yet.
