Topic: Is Diddy Kong Racing coming back?

Is the best kart racing game coming back? I mean this game:

@Snatcher Well, it's the first re-release of the game EVER, excluding the inferior DS version.

@BlueOcean True, I can see why its a big deal.

@Snatcher I still have the N64 cartridge. This video shows the rom running in wide-screen mode, you can see the difference in the beginning of the video during the fade-in.

Ideally they'd get the entire Rare N64 catalogue onto NSO. GoldenEye and the Disney racing game might present some licensing hurdles, but the door is surely open to the rest of them given that Nintendo and Microsoft managed to do a deal over Banjo.

This was a top 10 N64 game for me back in the day. I personally liked it more than MK64

@Matt_Barber Yep, Diddy Kong Racing is an awesome game, I enjoyed it more than Mario Kart 64 as well.

I could see it happening honestly, given that they said that Banjo-Kazooie will come to NSO's N64 catalog. Banjo is one of the playable characters after all - plus DKR was his debut game.

Mario Kart 64 online has me curious but Diddy Kong Racing would get me really excited. Especially since despite loving the game and it being...a kart racer, I've played almost no multiplayer Diddy Kong Racing ever.

Superstars apparently contains elements from all of three N64 Mario Party games, so I'd suspect that it'll have had to run its course before they're added.

Anyway, Diddy Kong Racing should present no such impediments. At least not unless there's a full-on remake underway rather than it just getting added to the list of emulated games.
