Hi,

Has anyone been able to start a local co-op session in this game? I downloaded it this morning and I go to start match and when I try to add a second player, it's asking me to sign in to a Nintendo account. I thought this game was supposed to have local co-op? If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

@AndyD Thanks, I'll look into that. I thought you could only have one account linked to the switch. Hopefully that works.

@sonkeids Let us know if you got it working.

@AndyD @NESlover85 Thanks guys. That did the trick. I had to create a Nintendo account for my son and then link it to my switch. I still think that's crazy. I shouldn't have to do all of that just to play couch co-op. Such a hassle. Thank you again!

Does it think you mean online match .... ? Or is it just because it's the 1st time you start the game? Some games have the local co-op in weird places, not with the online version

@BruceCM There's an option for Start game which would be the normal coop way and another option for match browser which i guess is the online way. I think either way you choose, you still need a nintendo account for every player regardless if you're just playing co-op, which to me is crazy. It shouldn't be that difficult. Sometimes, less is more.

If your son plays it keeps his progress separate from yours. So he does not need to select your account in order to continue with his character. He can work on leveling up or progress on his own without loosing any progress.

Ah, OK, I don't have this game to check .... & very rarely get the chance to do offline multiplayer, so just thought I'd check, in case it was something like those
