I think it looks pretty promising but it's one I'm not prepared to take the plunge on until I read some reviews and impressions. Out could be really great if it lives up to potential but it could also miss the mark. Hard to know for sure from trailers with games like this.
I'm super stoked for this game. It was probably one of the few games that really caught my eye in the indie directs. I'm gonna try holding off on picking it up so I can clear my backlog some more, but I ABSOLUTELY will buy this later.
I also read on discord that the Switch version will look identical to the PC version, but in 30 FPS. Not sure if this will hinder the precise platforming. Maybe it's better to wait for reviews. But the game looks amazing!
@dionysos283 That sounds fine to me as long as its stable. I can never tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps without seeing it side-by-side anyway.
@BenAV
In general I'm with you on this. But in games where precise reflexes are needed (like in difficult platforming) it can make a huge difference. There is a reason why Moon Studios went out of their way to bring Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Switch with 60 FPS.
So the devs answered me on Discord saying that they added "very subtle differences" in the 30 fps version like a slightly higher jump to compensated for the increased difficulty caused by the lower frame rate. So I guess Switch users should be fine.
I honestly feel like you don’t need that extra 16ms to push a button. It sounds pretentious as hell to hear modern gamers talk like it matters, when they just need to git gud.
And honestly, you can do more gameloops for input if you want, and still render at whatever timing you decide is best. Again, pretentious.
Next you’re going to start blaming joycon latency for your own misfires. 🥺😛
@dionysos283 Thanks for the share, I watched about 10 minutes of it when I was doing some chores around the house. I'll probably listen to the rest when I study tonight.
This thread made me check the game out on the eshop. I was put off by the screenshots though - too many dark environments going on. I need a little more light relief.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Game is really good. Pretty challenging for me. The 3D platforming is the best I’ve seen, like ever.
I’ve read the game is short. I just finished the second temple. There’s three spawned bosses that seem to have their own area, hopefully as big as the first two Temples.
I have lots of stuff to unlock in my inventory...so hopefully the ride will just keep on. I’ve already got my money’s worth.
