@JaxonH I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not as though I feel the Switch is terribly lacking, I very much don't! lol I have over 100 games on it, more than any other single game console/portable I have ever owned by a significant margin!

@Eel I don't see why this wouldn't be known by now, with the games releasing in a few days if they had it, I'd assume they'd be talking about it. Although it could come in a patch post-launch.

@Eel
The Revelations games are my favorite in the series. Don’t like the old school RE0 and RE1 fixed camera angles. Don’t like constantly being chased in RE2 and RE3. I like RE4 but it needs motion controls. RE7 is too creepy. Tried in VR. Will never touch that game again. I like RE5 too, on Switch with gyro, but the revelation games are definitely my favorite. On Switch with gyro and RAID mode co-op, me and my brother have spent many hours playing that both on 3DS and on switch.

I’ll be very disappointed if Bioshock doesn’t have gyro. Very, very disappointed.

But I won’t go so far as to say it would be a dealbreaker. I think this is one game that could get away with not having it just because it’s not purely run and gun FPS. I think it would be much better with it but I think I would still enjoy it quite a bit all the same. But here’s to not having to settle 🥂

FPS/TPS and realistic racing games are where Switch is most lacking at the moment in terms of genres. Bioshock and Borderlands collections in the short term meanwhile games like DOOM Eternal and Metroid Prime 4 in the longer term will help improve FPS options a bit.

@Grumblevolcano Man, Metroid Prime 4... I'm very much in the camp of people who thinks Nintendo really should have given us a port of the Prime trilogy just to hold people over for that. I honestly respect them for admitting the game wasn't as good as they wanted and deciding to start over but... Goodness they announced it over 3 years ago. I can't be the only one who half forgot.

I have never played any of the Bio Shock games but wanted to for years! I'll be getting this early on and playing until completion!!

Never played a Bioshock game. Anything like other FPSs on Switch? I really enjoyed Wolfenstein 2, Youngblood, and Metro 2033.

@SpringLand
So, this was actually a fan made trailer for Bioshock Trilogy on Switch before it was announced, but ironically, is better than what they’ve shown.

And, I should add, the reviews for the series are very, very good.

Is there actually a need for a Switch specific Bioshock trailer? I've heard a few complaints about that but unless it's for performance issues you can see loads of trailers already or even watch the entire games online.

There’s never really a need for much of anything

But if you want to make people more aware of a game who weren’t previously, then a trailer is the best way to do that. Not everyone has played the game and not everyone is willing to google search every single game they haven’t played. Just look at SpringLand’s post.

Well, there might be people who haven't heard of the games at all, still, @jump .... Or at least don't know much & aren't aware they're Switching Why would you go looking for something like that if you didn't know enough about the game to be interested already & had no idea it was coming?
Then, general gameplay videos don't show it running on Switch, for those concerned about the performance on there

That’s very nihilistic.

I’m curious about the people who are already getting the game and have played it previously but are still asking for a trailer. I just find it odd since it’s not going to offer anything new. Even the post you’re referencing is aware of the game without a trailer and the trailer you posted doesn’t answer their question.

Huh? We, who are aware, are suggesting there might be people who aren't! So, those people aren't asking for the trailer ....

If anyone is unsure about taking the plunge and getting these games, please go for it, I can't recommend them enough!

Bioshock 1 is a masterclass in atmosphere, tension and environmental storytelling, and Bioshock Infinite is a much more faced paced game with one of my favourite stories in gaming. I'm less of a fan of Bioshock 2 (it didn't have the same creative director or development team and it does show) mainly due to a lacking story, but it's still got really enjoyable gameplay!

These are phenomenal games, do not miss out on them!

There are literally people asking for a trailer, hence the question I asked...

Well, I'm not answering for them, I'm explaining the point I made, which might not be exactly what Jaxon was thinking, either .... I replied to a general thing about people asking for a Switch specific trailer, I wasn't saying that covered everything The person who was aware of the games asked if they were like other FPS games on Switch, though, so they're not very familiar with them. Possibly, they want to see it running on the Switch, as I did cover, to see that it plays well there, too? That won't be helped by seeing it on other platforms

You wouldn’t get a real impression of the game performance on a Switch from a trailer, they are just snippets to show off the game in the best possible way. WWE 2K18 or Ark are terrible preforming games on the Switch but that was not shown in their trailers.

I was reading some threads comparing Bioshock to Metroid Prime, and one of the most interesting posts (to me) was this:

Now don't get your expectations wrong. They're not THAT similar. But they are both dark and atmospheric first person games with more of an emphasis on exploration than their combat. Tons of environmental storytelling and lore that can be discovered by searching around. Though BioShocks is more audiologs than scanning

Having only played the beginning parts of each game (except 2, which I have never tried), I’m not really in a position to make judgments like this. But this statement does strike me as having validity based on what I’ve seen and played, and I find that very exciting, because that’s exactly the type of game I’m in the mood for.

@jump
You seem to be willfully making this difficult. Why?

If you can’t understand the value of a trailer not sure if it’s worth taking the time to try to explain it to you. Reason trailers are made in the first place is because they add value to help inform people about a game. Just because the game has released on another platform doesn’t mean every person on planet earth suddenly understands what the game is about. There are plenty who never saw a trailer for a game before. Ergo, trailers still offer value to those people. Even if it’s not gameplay from that exact system, It’s still offers value by encapsulating what the game is about. If people want to know technical details they can watch a technical analysis or read reviews. If they just want to understand what the game is, a picture is worth a thousand words, and a trailer is precisely that.

Are we really going to sit here and argue over the value of a trailer?

I understand the value of a trailer but the value of trailer is not what I am asking about hence your difficulty answering my question. The question is why do people who have already played, pre- ordered and know the games want another trailer.

Here's the original question .... Nothing about it being only for people who have played the games before & pre-ordered. Ask those people why they want a trailer?

My apologies for that but I did expand upon it the multiple replies. Tho even then from my original comment people are aware of the game otherwise how can they complain about the lack of trailers, especially if they are following news update enough to know there’s no new trailers.

I was seeing a few people in the comment section saying how much they loved the games but are annoyed by the lack of new Switch trailers.
