Thanks to the tip about just letting the moon buggy go at standard speed and jumping over the mines on the start of level 3, I've managed to get to level 4 for the first time and jumped my score to 26, 350. That's currently got me to 37 on the Global Leaderboards 👍

Man, I wish I had stumbled onto this earlier. Hi all, I'm new to the forums and looking forward to joining you in these weekly challenges (I'm probably going to be bringing up the rear though ) My switch friend code is in my signature if anyone would like to add me. Good luck this week!
It seems like having the leaderboard pinned to the top of the Switch forum has worked as I hoped it would. Since it was pinned we've had several new members joining us or at least showing an interest in doing so.
Talking of leaderboards I've just added the scores for Danmaku Unlimited 3 . There's 15 names on there, our highest turn out yet. Plus there was a couple of scores not submitted. So 17 participants, 3 more than the opening week.
In a week that saw our highest turn out so far, the first modern shoot-em-up to feature as the Weekly Challenge as well as the first TATE shooter ,it also saw a few of us struggle to adapt to the craziness of proper bullet hell. Unsurprisingly @GrailUK adapted and posted an insane score that @meppi64 and newcomer @CaffeinatedGamer couldn't get close to beating, despite their stellar effort.
I like the recap! And I'm happy with third place for my first competition with you guys.
Also, I'm pretty sure it was the pinned thread that got my attention originally as well. So yes, awesome job with setting that up. And now I look forward to participating in many more competitions to come. Thanks again for organizing it all.
@OorWullie Where do we go for open leaderboard submissions for DU3?
I thought I was done with the game and hadn't played since last week (29mill. hi score) when I decided to fill a few minutes last night with a run and scored 37 million straight off the bat, so I had a few more runs today and was about to call time on it at 38 million, when this happened:
... so I might do a few more runs yet...
Edit: looks like I need to change the date on my Switch. No funny business, honest
@gcunit They're pinned near the top of the Switch forum and also in my signature. The open leaderboard resides underneath the closed weekly challenge one. I had forgotten to add it yesterday.
@OorWullie Hmmm...my gut tells my you can reach 34k. I played level 3 pretty hard-core - full speed, jumping the first 2 mines in one jump etc and had let go of the d-pad a couple of times. After experimenting more, you can jump the first 2 mines in 1 jump, then the next 2 in another jump and this changes your positioning for the rest of the level and I'm wondering if there is actually a need to break. Beating level 3 in 59 seconds would be awesome! (I currently do it in 64) but the jumping is pixel perfect on that second group so I would need to be in the right mood for that lol. The extra seconds would be worth another 500 and maybe a couple of 100 on the end of level 4. Just some theory crafting
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
This game, despite it’s early birth in gaming history, is quite addictive. I’m closing in on 30k but not quite there yet. I’m really hoping to hit it by Friday.
Happy gaming guys & gals, I see quite a bit of us in the top 50 already.

I got little bit over 28000 but messed up and pressed B. Funny game sometimes I can breeze trough the beginner level and other times I am making stupid mistakes.
Oh well, hoping to reach atleast 30000 points.
