Thanks everyone. I blame it on Grail, him posting those scores for level 1 turned me in the monster you see before you today. ;P
@RetroGamerAndrew
Don't worry about perfecting a level at first.
Heck I only got around 18 million on level 1 in that run, so in theory I could have reset it and tried to get double since it should be possible.
Just try to get a feel for the whole game a a bit more and as you get into harder and harder situations, you'll start getting used to all the crazy stuff and the earlier levels will automatically become easier.
That's when it's a good idea to try and link those earlier parts together and you'll notice that doing so will make those easy parts rather hard again since the margin of failure becomes a lot smaller when playing it that way.
If you do it from the start, it's way too easy to get frustrated.

@wasilewski Well I never. You can record footage. So here's the very start showing how you can basically keep your combo up. Skim bullets and leave the blue gems as long as possible to avoid any lulls.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@GrailUK thanks for the clip. So you're not really moving your ship a lot I see. This is very hard for me to get use to because I'm so used to moving away from bullets instead of just letting them skim past me.

@GrailUK
Oh, it's only 30 seconds? I thought the feature recorded 5 minutes. Must have mistaken it with early PS4 recording there.
Also how exactly does it work? Do you have to click it and then it starts recording or can you hit the button and will it save the past 30 seconds?
I've had instances in Zelda where something really neat happened and I pressed the capture button and I got a video from after it happend, which is a bit pointless.
@wasilewski
that's just the early part of the stage.
What I do from that point forward is to weave between live bullets and zoom across the screen to pick up ghost bullets with big sweeping moves depending on the patterns.
I also use a ton of laser fire which is really concentrated, so it's impossible to hit most enemies like that if you remain relatively stationary.
@Lroy it's quite possibly the best game Psykio has put out, so you can be sure I'm excited to see it hit Switch.
If this one doesn't get a 10/10, I'll riot! You hear that?,

@CW13 I'm struggling with this one too. I know what I need to do but I can't pull it off. I'm finding it hard to adjust to this different style after playing so many Neo Geo and Psikyo shoot-em-ups.
@GrailUK Outstanding skills mate. You're some player.
@wasilewski I know the game, but have not played it since it didn't come to a home system.
I'm pretty sure the chances of it coming to Switch are much slimmer than it coming to PS4 since it's Eighting/Raizing. And M2 is working on a number of PS4 games under their ShotTriggers label.
Then again, it's on conjunction with Capcom, so we might never see a home port at all, like with Progear no Arashi. :-/
@OorWullie I'm not able to get even near 100 mil tonight, so yeah.
Problem is that I get way too focussed on grazing, which is getting me killed a ton today. Just had a run that went pretty good till level 2. Then all of a sudden my brain started thinking it would be a good idea to pretend that pink bullets were just as good a pickup as the ghost bullets.
It....didn't go so well after that. lol
All I can say to the people struggling. Forget about getting close to bullets for the time being.
Pick up as many ghost bullets as you can and avoid regular ones. Learn the boss patterns and how to cope with them Learn the level layouts and what's best to do in certain parts with the kinds of enemy waves being thrown at you.
Once all that starts feeling easy, start focussing on getting closer to bullets.
If you want to do all of it from the get go, there will be much frustration, very few progress and the game just won't be as much fun.
It has to come naturally. Don't try to force it.
I've just done my first 10 million run. A drop in the ocean compared to the scores posted I know but that's nearly double my previous score so in context, it's a high score, lol!
