@status-204 Yeah, I think that's the worst part of this game for me. It would at least be tolerable if he always had a real one like in past games. This is the first game where they can all be fake, isn't it? I had one a couple months ago where all four were fake, he literally did not come for the next 4 weeks, and when he did finally return the 5th week they were all fake again. It was so frustrating. At least since the update everyone is guaranteed to at least come every other week, and I fortunately have other family members playing for those rare instances where more than 1 are real we can get them all.

Your furnitures bought from Nook Cranny are the town projects. You can put the furnitures outside.
If on ACNL you only got very limited set of town projects stuffs, on ACNH you can decorate your island with every single furnitures (except wall furnitures, floor, wallpaper) so you can create a Fish market by display the fishes you have caught and add with stuffs from C.J. rewards. You can build also other outdoor public places based on furnitures set such as outdoor cafe / restaurant, outdoor library, boxing ring, arcade, outdoor gym, fun park, music stage, etc.
And don't forget there are a lot of very expensive stuffs from Nook Cranny shop that keep you build your money to buy them.

I did Time Travel all the time for exploiting Redd art stuffs. I tried to find his appearance by skipping the days. Once i found him, i will lock the date by time travel. After i bought the stuffs from him, i saved the game, quit then changed the date to tomorrow so i will get the Redd art from mail. After i submitted to Blater, i saved the game, quit and changed the day to yesterday. I repeated the process until i got ALL Redd arts without exchange from other players. At the same time, i could buy the other color variant items that was NOT being sold on Nook Cranny.
Since i did Time Travel a lot, sometimes when i didn't find different arts to be completed, i bought the same arts from Redd (the original of course) for my surplus to be given to other players for Free.
I still want to help other players by providing Original Redd arts and when i played Online, i will bring those stuffs and dropped on other player's island.
Btw, after my house fully upgraded, i hunt the DIY recipes from Celeste, the Ice furnitures, the Redd Arts, the Pirate stuffs from Gullivarrr, the world stuffs from Gulliver, the Autumn DIY recipes, the Egg DIY recipes, star fragments from Shooting stars, etc. I had tons of things to do after my house fully upgraded.
I know nothing about Animal Crossing but I'd like to learn. What's y'all favorite thing to do in-game?
Time Travel 😁
That's my main activity on ACNH.
By doing Time travel, i farmed Redd Arts, Celeste DIY recipes, pirate stuffs from Gullivarrr, world stuffs from Gulliver, Egg DIY recipes, Ice DIY recipes from building Perfect snowman, quickly kick out the unwanted villagers, speed up the house upgrading, etc.
I don't play Slow on ACNH.
I play Quick.
I do Not want to wait exactly 24 hours 7 days to get one accomplishment.
I played ACNH with Time efficiency because time is money.
I will keep doing Time Travel because i knew i was a Rebel.
One thing before i played ACNH, i made a list of Top 40 villagers then i separated into 4 different priority.
I started with Top 10 villagers for my 1st island and if i really satisfied, i want 2nd island for Top 11 - 20 villagers. After i made a list of villagers i want on my island, i will try hard to get them based on the list i made. I will not accepting villagers that was not on my list, i will accepting them temporarily just only to get all expressions and DIY recipes then i kicked them out after that.
@Apportal Jeez that's tough to pick just one favorite thing to do in NH. Well one of them is when I donate new critters/fossils to the museum. I also enjoy getting new furniture/DIYs, especially if they're something I really like, such as a billiards table or an arcade machine. I also enjoy the freedom to decorate not only the inside of my house, but also my entire island. (It's kinda like making your own town!) Visiting other players' islands is also great. From this community alone, I've seen some really cool islands.

You're not telling me anything I don't already know. I have done a lot of outdoor decorating, including a play ground with a giant T-Rex fossil as the centerpiece (I call it "T-Rex Park"), an outdoor arcade next to my town hall, an outdoor sauna and lounge area, a beach party, all my residents have uniquely decorated yards, and so on. I would just like to have more elaborate outdoor structures and props that take time to pay off like the Town Projects in New Leaf just to give us more things to spend our money on and more delayed gratification.
Speaking of all of the above, I think I'm finally going to start going for a 5-star island rating. What is the big key (or keys) to this? I set up a lot of furniture and things around, but only got a 4-star. And what does and does not count as clutter? My son likes to put lots of things around the island that are not necessarily furniture like fish models and coconut juice. Will these hurt our rating, and if so, will just putting them up on an outdoor table or something fix it?
@Xyphon22 From what I remember, you'll want to continue to place more furniture on your island. Planting flowers will help too. Be sure to add to the variety of furniture, as well. In other words, try not to place too much duplicates.
How I got 5 stars on my island is basically listening to Isabelle's advice. If you're still stuck with a 4-star rating, take note of what she says to you and heed it. You could also try checking in at Nook's Cranny and see if there's any new items that appeal to you. Hope this helped.

@Xyphon22
My island is 5 star rating despite it has a lot of weeds due to Time Travel. 😅
And i oftenly found Lily of valley flower keep spamming from the same spot on my island (it spammed under Cherry tree near of Curt's house for my case).
When i saw Lily of valley on my island that means my island rating was 5 stars.
To get 5 stars, DO NOT drop the items on the ground. It will reduce the star rating as Isabelle will explain about that. Place the items, not drop the items. Weeds have no effect with island rating. Weeds just only raising the chance to meet with Whisp in the night.
You will need flowers and trees on your island but not too much as in there is no room for anything else. You need obviously to place items but these can be random as long as you place them and don’t drop them in leaf form. My son has the same habit as yours. His yard is cluttered with arcade and bubblegum machines and it doesn’t hurt our rating. He even dropped a rotten turnip because he likes to see the ants.
Another thing you have to use are fences but again not too much. Last but not least are the items you can only use or drop like the resources (stone, iron, wood). If too much of these things lie on the ground, your rating drops too.
@MarioLover92@Anti-Matter@Cosmofantasmo Thanks, everyone. I definitely have enough flowers around my island (they are taking over, I probably have too many). I thought I had a lot of furniture, but I guess I need more. I have the guide book and it has a section on it, but it's confusing going over all the behind-the-scenes point data and everything. It sounds like, though, that the furniture needs to be evenly spaced out all over the island. Does that seem to be true? I have a lot of furniture, but it tends to be clumped into like a playground area and a picnic area, etc. Do I need less in certain spots and more simply all over?
@Xyphon22
Place a lot of fences / bushes if you want something natural.
Avoid dropping items on the ground.
Furniture placement have no effect with star rating, just make sure you give enough space for furniture placement.
@Cosmofantasmo@FattyWhale_42 Thank you both SO much for the star fragments!!!!! (: I am hoping to be on randomly throughout the day since the hubby is off for labor day and can hang with the babe so I can get in my "me" time, so if either of you need or want anything in return, please don't hesitate to let me know!!!!! I hate just taking and not giving back! 😊

No problem. Have more than enough of them and not really interested in crafting the associated items except the zodiac furniture. Now that I think about it, is there an achievement to craft all DIY items?
Nevermind, the only thing I’m interested in right now is art and I don’t expect you to give me one of that for star fragments which are basically resources that can be acquired more frequently than Redd appears. So I’m fine.
