Oh, I'm so in love with it already, and the midnight starting vibe was truly there. Exploring the island in the dark, just chilling and catching the fish was so great to be doing. Felt nice and calm, and was an experience I'll hold as one of the greatest in the series.
And now we get to business, as there's things to be building to get this island up and running.
Just got my new switch and I'm in the process of moving my data over and downloading the game. It sucks that I need to download every game again but it'll be worth it in the end
Enjoying it so far. Not much to do yet, of course, but it's a lovely looking game. The island feels a lot bigger than I thought it would based on early gameplay videos, and around 70% of it is still inaccessible to me because I have no way to cross rivers. I really like the interface. It feels very smooth, and the Nook Phone is awesome, although designing patterns is a slow and fiddly affair since you can't use the touchscreen (Why not!).
Is it me, or does catching fish seem a little easier than it was in New Leaf? Feels like you don't need perfect split-second timing, although maybe some of the rarer fish may still be frustratingly hard to catch.
@Mountain_Man yeah fishing seems easier to me too. I am also at a loss for what to do now. Got 100 bugs and fish achievement so think I better leave it alone till tomorrow maybe?
Looking for animal crossing buddies on switch FC is SW-7803-7785-1593
@Nintendolife - what's with all the guides? Is it really necessary to spam them on the mainpage? I get that a guide is usrful but "can you swim in ACNH" gets just to the point of annoying. Not to mention the mini-spoilers you are giving away with some of these guides.
What's the value of overloading the site with miniguides for a single game?
Yes, a game like this is about discovering things on your own, so I'm not going to bother with any "strategy guides" that spoil everything right off the bat.
I will say this: balloons appear to be worth shooting down again. I never bothered with them in New Leaf once I realized they almost never gave you anything but ugly balloon items.
I was very sad when I saw a present float by on a balloon because I had no way to shoot it down. At least I knew they were back for when I do get a slingshot.
I felt very upset to see something on Youtube videos when i typed K.K. Metal.
There are a bunch of mixture between Animal Crossing with ****ing rated 18+ game. ðŸ˜
Totally unacceptable for me.
Don't even try to taint the cuteness of Animal Crossing with something ****ing rated 18+ stuffs !
It's NOT funny at all !
It's DISGUSTING for me !
@Anti-Matter Calm down, man... We know you don’t like violent video games, you’ve said so one billion times already and it’s pretty tiresome. Some of us likes to play those games, as well as Animal Crossing, and thinks the AC/DOOM crossover is funny. It’s just some silly meme stuff, nothing serious. It doesn’t taint AC in any way, except in your sensitive head. Ignore the mashups if you don’t like them. We don’t want another rant from you regarding 18+ games.
I’ve talked with you about this before and I thought you’d bettered yourself... Apparently not.
My copy was shipped early but didn't arrive today with the Royal Mail. Hopefully I get it tomorrow, I was really looking forward to spending my only day off this week playing it.
Does the game tell you which season you are in? Or is it just the visual looks of the ground and trees?
Why I ask is I chose southern hemishpere 2x now (I reset my progress) and I keep getting put in the Spring (I think?) season.
Like wtf? What's going on with this?
Does anyone have a southern hemisphere island to take a screen shot of it so I can compare?
I've created a monster. My kids are jumping around screaming, going crazy, it's about bedtime, and my wife has just been sitting there playing this for like 2 hours straight. I think she's broken like 4 fishing rods and just keeps crafting more. Pray for me and my family, please.
@Xyphon22 thoughts and prayers man. My wife has been observing my 2 playing and literally just said "that looks fun maybe I should get a copy". Nintendo is about to sell 3 copies to one household
Ugh, game is so good. Played for some 3, 4 hours straight when I started my file. Thank God I have to wait till tomorrow before I can do more stuff instead of grinding for Bells and resources. Not that grinding isn't addicting at all... totally not.
Wait, doing more stuff? That's not good. I have 6 hours of classes back to back tomorrow, starting in the morning. What have I done to myself?
I don't know. But I won't question anything. It is the price to pay for indulging in the cult that is Animal Crossing.
