Hmm. Just saw an article from Nintendo Life on Facebook about Nook’s Cranny upgrading. One of the terms was to have 29 active playing days. According to the milestone, today is my 28th day. Soon I’ll be able to verify what exactly triggers it! Trying not to get too excited in case it’s not accurate.

@BenAV I am so afraid to invest in that many! Lol You are one brave soul!!!

@foxyflimflam It doesn't feel like a big risk at the moment because the player base is so active and it's easy enough to find good prices. I figured I'm better off getting it out of the way now than leaving it till the hype dies down.

@BrittGOAL14 I hope that is the case because then that means mine also will be upgraded VERY soon!! FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

@BrittGOAL14 That's what people were suspecting for a while but I believe that's not accurate unfortunately. The guides here aren't great.

I have Sheldon. At first I thought he was funny b/c he was always giving my wife trash cans or garbage theme gifts like crazy. He has had a few problems with other villagers but not for a while. Now he's gotten on my bad side. He nicknamed me racer and all the other villagers calling me it now too.

I've been mostly lucky with turnips so far but I go to a lot of other islands.

I'm at 28 active days hopefully my shop updates soon.

@BenAV so if your shop doesn't upgrade today that might be random too.

I've seen some people have the upgraded shop already and didn't have a very upgraded island.

@MyNameIsRandy My island might not be a good example though because I "time travelled" backwards one hour (from 5am to 4pm so one day) thanks to daylight savings which could have messed it all up. If it's 30 days from when you get the shop like I've read that it might be in some places though then it could be a bit longer regardless.

There's a good chance that a lot (or all) of those people with upgraded shops without an upgraded island are time travellers.

Has anyone been able to grow purple roses or pansys?

@BenAV Ive asked if they time travel. All but one said they didn't. So maybe just not telling the truth.

@BenAV Good to know you’re on 30... I saw another one a few days ago that stated 30 days after the shop opens. Soon at any rate.

@MyNameIsRandy I finally got one purple rose to grow!!! Looks VERY similar to black in my opinion. Especially when it is a bud!

@foxyflimflam you got the purple roses from white roses?

I think flowers have an increased chance of creating a new flower if a villager waters it compared to when the player waters it. On multiple occasions have seen a villager water one in a patch and even though I watered the entire patch later, only that one seemed to create another. Has anyone else seen something similar?
