To make things more interesting, they should've gone for Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 before Sonic 1. 2D Sonic fans have Mania which is even getting new content over the summer.

@Lroy They put an online leaderboard on TFIV, so someone is watching the threads lol.

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

I'm stoked we are getting THUNDER FORCE IV. Would love that to be followed by Compile's M.U.S.H.A

Speaking of Compile, have you played Super Aleste?
It's one of my favourite shoot em ups! Each difficulty setting does more than multiply the enemies or things like that. It actually introduces things like suicide bullets into the gameplay, among other modifiers.
An absolute gem and one that we never seem to get in VC or anything else...

Yippee! That's at least 20 guaranteed sales then from the high-score pilots ✈ī¸ 🚀

@meppi64 I've played some of Compile's prodigious output but so many shooters they had a hand in, I've yet to dig into.

Have a feeling it was POWER STRIKE or something on Master System which was where I would have first encountered them. Is that a SUPER ALESTE game by another name? I am aware of the series just not super accurate on the details. Lots of entries from what I recall and like I said, Compile put out A LOT of shooters.

They were also behind this really interesting sounding game called Selphia or something. Was on PC-ENGINE and had mythical creatures and buxom she-gods as playable characters and bosses.

@oorwullie How do I embed a YouTube video clip?

@Lroy oh, you mean this little game?
Untitled
Yeah, I think I head about that one somewhere.

Power Strike is indeed part of the Aleste series, just renamed for the west for some reason, like many of the series.
Power Strike on Game Gear was originally called GG Aleste for instance and Musha Aleste was made into M.U.S.H.A. for some reason. While Super Aleste kept its original name in Europe, in the US it was released as Space Megaforce. Now that's what I call excellent marketing!

I just found out that they were behind Xevious: Faurdraut Saga on Famicom as well and not Namco!
Had no idea about that for all these years. No wonder I love that little game so much.
The first time I played it, I thought that I had bought the normal Xevious arcade game ported to the Famicom.
You can imagine my surprise when it turned out to be very different.

@meppi64 AWESOME! You own, have played or have at least heard of everything, lol!

Loving STRIKERS 1945 action going on in the background. I need to get a few runs in on that tonight myself.

@Lroy Sadly not everything, but I'm trying though.
It's always nice discovering new things so I love diving into something and bumping into an awesome experience.
Be that games, music, tv series or films.
Which is why I love Asian cinema so much.
You can't imagine the things I've in movies! Sometimes super serious but brilliantly put together, and sometimes so batsh.. insane you'll wonder how it ever got made and which madman came up with it. Takashi Miike, I'm looking your way, my friend. lol

@Lroy On YouTube click in the little arrow in the top right corner and select copy link then just paste it here. The forum embeds videos with just the direct link. This way doesn't work in the comments sections though.
