@Dhaladog Now I'm curious because I haven't read those posts.
My answer is no. I watched the Nintendo Direct and also a long video by Digital Foundry. The latter makes some mistakes. It says that Switch 2 is the first Nintendo console to allow video chat. Wii U Chat says hi! However, it makes watchers think objectively without the silly advertisement voices of Nintendo Direct about every revealed aspect and I recommend it.
My first Switch was the Lite. I sold it and bought a v.2 eventually, that has great battery life unlike Switch 2. I don't use the handheld mode much. For instance, the smaller text when someone talks in a low voice in Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom is not legible on Switch Lite and too small on Switch. Being Nintendo games, it's a shame. The size of the screen of Switch 2 is even bigger than Switch OLED and I like that, but it's not OLED. I'm a fan of OLED, we have three LG OLED TVs.
Switch 2 is also way too expensive outside Japan. I doubt that Switch 2 will be as powerful as some fans believe comparing it to current-gen consoles, but technically looks fine to me. My biggest concerns are related to the paid upgrades and repackaged Switch games. They don't have the excuses they had with the Wii U ports on Switch. Even the upscaled Zelda games are behind a paywall. Additionally, the two tech games don't seem any fun, especially compared to Nintendo Land and Wii Sports. Nintendo Switch 2 seems boring.
I have been writing here for years that my most anticipated Switch game is Metroid Prime 4 and it still will be available for Switch. Mario Kart World looks a bit too online-focused and Mario Kart 8 is my least liked Mario Kart because of the gameplay and physics. I prefer the older titles that have better racing gameplay. I must clarify that I'm a huge Mario Kart fan since Super Mario Kart.
I was excited about a new Donkey Kong title, but I'm not liking the destruction gameplay that was shown. I also have a Series X and a big backlog on it, Game Pass and other Nintendo consoles. It just doesn't make sense to get Switch 2 now. I would feel silly. Another thing that is important for me is that I don't trust Nintendo regarding access to digital content long term, so I tend to buy Nintendo games in physical form, but the new prices are ridiculously expensive.
I already secured myself a pre-order. Despite how ridiculous the pricing is for the games and the console, I am admittedly a die-hard fan, and i just really wanna play that new mario kart. I started saving for a switch 2 about 2 years ago, so i have a little splurge fund for it.

No. 3DS was to date the only platform I got at launch because I loved the 3D feature after trying it. But I got burned by droughts.
The earliest I could see myself getting Switch 2 is August, so still within the launch window.
Nope. While the new MK and DK do look pretty cool, there was nothing I saw during the direct that made me want to buy the console immediately. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever gotten a new console right at launch. I tend to wait a year or two so the game library can fill out a bit.

I'm waiting for more info, too many unanswered questions. I wouldn't even be able to system transfer my Switch 1 library to Switch 2 at the moment because of the microSD Express requirement (256GB is too small meanwhile higher sizes are US exclusive).
At current, I'm leaning towards no because of pricing (Mario Kart World, physical being more expensive than digital) and the microSD Express requirement situation.
Already paid for it, 430€ (april). I just hope they lower the price on games. If not, im gonna pre-order anyway and pay for the MKW next month (may); I saw it already at 75€. That way, i can expend money on accesories for the Switch 2 (on june).
That way, I have everything paid without being too much on the same month.
Depends on what happens with the price here in the US. If it stays the current price, then yes I will absolutely try to get one on launch day. I'd get the bundle, which makes the $80 price for Mario Kart a non-issue for me.
Mario Kart being $80 is literally the only thing I had issue with (well okay, and Welcome Tour being paid at all, but that's easily skippable and I would have skipped it even if was free so yeah)
It's no from me, but then I've never bought a Nintendo console at launch. It's always better to give it six months, see how the games and console stack up, and whether there are serious issues that need fixing. If demand drops off a bit, I might even land a bargain.
While the generational price hikes aren't helping, it's mostly a case of the games shown so far not doing it for me. Mario Kart World looks good. The rest, well, I won't say too much as there are clearly people looking forward to them. If I'm paying that premium price, it'll be for something like a new Fire Emblem, Xenoblade or Zelda game that I'm going to spend a lot of time with.
In the meantime, Metroid Prime 4 is still coming to the Switch 1, where it looks like an amazing game, so I'll buy it there and maybe I can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition later.
Although I don't have a huge need to get it day-1, I may snag it if Nintendo offers me a pre-order next month just in case the economy goes even more ballistic and prices raise later. I really want the new Donkey Kong so I'll be pretty happy if I get it anytime before July 17.
Since everything is so expensive I'll probably wait until next year to get a microSD Express Card and a new Pro Controller and fully transition to Switch 2.
I originally wanted to purchase one at launch, but sadly I don't think that'll actually happen now. There's a good chance that the prices in America are going to spike for the console due to the ongoing political situation- rendering me saving up for months as completely and utterly useless. I'm holding out hope that they won't have to increase the prices, but I genuinely can't shake the feeling that it's about to become even more expensive than it already was.

Gaming is my hobby. I've been playing on the Switch for nearly a decade. I've been so desperate for a Switch Pro I spent a hefty sum (both money and time) modchipping my Switch OLED and setting it up for overclocking and getting mods to unlock framerates and stuff.
And Switch 2 is, in all honesty, the most bad### system I've seen in all my years dating back to the NES and GB. Come hell or high water, one way or another I'll be playing Switch 2 come June 5th.
I haven't been this excited for a new console since the original Switch. But I think I'm even more excited for Switch 2. This is my dream console FINALLY becoming a reality.

Nope. I hardly play my Switch as it is and except for Mario Kart World there is no must have games scheduled for it. Maybe in a few years I will pick one up, but as of now I'd sooner pick up a Steam Deck.

That was never my plan, since I have too many notable games in my Switch backlog to bother with new hardware. And in this case specifically, it feels like a dumb idea to get one too early. I'll let you all pay too much and bug test joycons for us!
You aint gonna be paying any less regardless of how long you wait, of that you can be sure. I'll welcome you when you pay too much 5 years from now 😀
I feel confident bug testing joycon. I never got drift on my Switch over 8 years. I learned it doesnt happen if you're not rough with it, and Im not (my brother is and he had both joycon get drift- that's when I realized it would never be a problem for me). Besides which they lost countless millions replacing them for free. I guarantee they'll have taken abundant precautions to ensure they don't lose money like that again. And they said they redesigned ground up with durability in mind. The sticks are different now as they're larger so its not like they're using the same sticks.
